Can you ship firearms directly to me at my home or office?
No, all firearms must be shipped to a verified FFL (Federal Firearm License) holder. This excludes LEO offices and some black powder rifles. They can ship to your home in certain states. Only where legal.
What is an FFL?
“FFL” stands for Federal Firearm License. There are currently over 58,000 FFL holders nationwide. FFL holders are commonly gun stores, pawn shops, and retail sporting goods stores. However, there are also many individuals that hold a FFL. All firearms sold to individuals online must be shipped to a local FFL holder who will then transfer the firearm (via ATF form 4473 and associated background check) to the individual. Most dealers charge a small fee for their services in the transfer, generally about $20. You will be responsible to pay their fee.
Is it legal for me to buy a gun online?
All Anthony’s firearms transactions are fully legal and regulated. Federal and state laws must be followed throughout the process. The firearm must be shipped to a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder. Before a gun is released to the buyer, a background check is done by the local FFL dealer.
Can firearms be returned?
No, firearms cannot not be returned to Anthony’s. All sales are final. It is important to thoroughly inspect your firearm before completion of the transfer. Make sure that the firearm is as described and there are no defects. Once the firearm is transferred into your name, Anthony’s will not accept a return or exchange under any circumstances. If a defect is discovered after completing the transfer, you must contact the manufacturer directly for repair or replacement.
What permits do I need to buy a gun?
There is no federal permit required to purchase gun but as always you the customer must be fully aware of any local or state regulations regarding firearm licensing that apply to you.
I live in (heavily restricted state/locality). What process do I need to go through to buy a gun?
Your transferring FFL should have all the necessary information regarding the process and legal hurdles in purchasing a firearm in your location. It is highly recommended that you contact the FFL to make any necessary arrangements prior to making a purchase with Anthony’s, as they should have access to any information needed and be able to help you through the process. Transfer fees may be higher in some areas than others because of local regulations.
How old do I have to be to buy a gun?
You must be 21 years of age to purchase a firearm from Anthony’s.
How do I get the gun?
The firearm will be shipped to your FFL dealer. They will conduct a background check through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), and any other state or local mandated background checks on you prior to transferring the firearm to you. If your state or local municipality requires a waiting period you will have to abide by that.
Can I have a gun shipped directly to my house?
No. Federal law requires individuals to undergo and pass a background check at an FFL dealer.
Why do I need to find an FFL?
The firearm must be shipped to a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder.
How do I find a local FFL holder?
Visit our FFL Finder page and enter your zip code for a full list of FFL dealers in your area plus their contact information and what they charge for the firearm transfer. Contact the dealer and discuss the process and fees. If you feel the fees are too high, you can always try another dealer. It is as easy as that!
Do I have to register my firearm?
There is no federal registration process but as always you the customer must be fully aware of any local or state regulations regarding firearm registration that apply to you.
Can I legally own a gun?
In most cases the answer is YES if ALL of the following applies to you:
- Handguns you must be 21 and to purchase long guns you must be at least 18. You are legally competent to make decisions. You can pass the Federal NICS or a state background check.
- In order to take legal possession of a firearm, Federal law requires individuals to undergo and pass a background check at the FFL dealer when you pick-up your firearm.
Who cannot legally own a gun?
The following persons CANNOT legally own a firearm:
- Has been convicted in any court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding 1 year;
- Is a fugitive from justice;
- Is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance;
- Has been adjudicated as a mental defective or has been committed to a mental institution;
- Is an alien illegally or unlawfully in the United States or an alien admitted to the United States under a nonimmigrant visa;
- Has been discharged from the Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions;
- Having been a citizen of the United States, has renounced his or her citizenship;
- Is subject to a court order that restrains the person from harassing, stalking, or threatening an intimate partner or child of such intimate partner; or
- Has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence
- Cannot lawfully receive, possess, ship, or transport a firearm.
- A person who is under indictment or information for a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding 1 year cannot lawfully receive a firearm. [18 U.S.C. 922(g) and (n), 27 CFR 478.32]
Must I have any training to purchase a firearm?
There is no federal requirement for any special training but as always you the customer must be fully aware of any local or state regulations regarding firearm purchasing that apply to you.
What does the FFL do when I go to pick up my firearm?
Under the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act (Brady Act), Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs) must contact the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) prior to the transfer of a firearm to an unlicensed individual in order to receive information on whether the individual is disqualified by federal or state law from possessing a firearm. FFLs will contact the NICS via either a point of contact (POC) established within their respective state, or the NICS Operation Center, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) dependent on whether the state has POC for the NICS. The background check will be conducted to ascertain if the person attempting to obtain a firearm falls within any of the prohibited categories as outlined in Section 922(g) or (n) of Title 18, United States Code. This only takes a few minutes.
What is it going to cost to transfer the gun?
That will depend on your local FFL dealer that will do the transfer. Remember, your local FFL is operating a business and is doing you a favor. Be considerate of his time.
Are there any additional taxes or fees?
There may be local or state fees associated with your firearms transfer. Contact your FFL for more information and a breakdown of any additional fees that apply. It is highly recommended that you contact the FFL to make any necessary arrangements prior to purchasing on AnthonysFirearmWarehouse.com.
What happens after I place my finance order?
Finance orders are processed within 24 hours of receiving them. You will be contacted within that period to advise of the current status of your finance order.
How is the gun shipped?
All handguns are shipped 2nd Day Express. Long guns are shipped 3 – 5 day ground delivery. All shipments are delivered Monday – Friday.
How can I safely and legally transport and store my purchased firearm?
As always you the customer must be fully aware of any local or state regulations regarding transportation and storage of firearms that apply to you. Laws and regulations can vary widely with the locale.
How do I know what ammunition works with my firearm?
It is always very important to use the correct ammunition in your gun. This information will be provided by the manufacturer and can usually be found in the owner’s manual.
Can I give a firearm I purchase to someone else or can I purchase one as a gift for someone else?
NO, you cannot.
Do you special order guns?
No, Items in stock are listed clearly on our website.
Can I call Anthony's to order a firearm?
No, we are online only. We do not offer phone support.
Can I buy more than one gun at a time?
Yes! You can buy as many as you want, but you will need to contact your transferring FFL to arrange for any transfer fee. They may charge for each firearm purchased.
I purchased a firearm, but I cannot pass the background check. Do I get my money back?
Yes, If possession does not take place. Returns due to not passing the background check are subject to 30% restocking fee.
How long will it take before the firearm I ordered ships?
It may take up to 5 business days for us to process and ship your order from the date of purchase. This can be delayed if we do not receive the FFL for your first order.
Can I purchase ammunition online?
Yes, most states allow ammunition to be shipped directly to your home or place of business. Only where legal. Federal law requires you must be at least 18 years old to purchase shotgun ammunition and 21 years or older to purchase handgun and rifle ammunition.
- All ammunition will be shipped FedEx ground.
- Ammunition cannot be shipped air freight, due to shipping regulations.
- Ammunition and firearms must be purchased separately.
- For safety reasons, we do not accept returns on ammunition.
- Always make sure you use the correct ammunition for your specific firearm.
- Check your local laws for any other regulations before ordering.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Credit Card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. All orders must include the billing address on the credit card. All pay in full transactions are authorized for the full amount at the time the order is place. Please contact your financial provider for more infoamtion regarding authorizations or blocks. Feel free to place orders using our secure servers.
How are order cancellations handled?
We will cancel your order if requested. All canceled orders are subject to a 10% restocking fee. We will not accept returns on firearms once transferred into your name. We understand not all defects can be detected at time of purchase, for these instances please refer to the manufacturers warranty.
How are returns handled?
We charge a 10% restocking fee on all returns. We will send you an email confirming the cancellation of your order. If you do not receive this confirmation from us, your order has not been cancelled. Please use the Contact Us page to request cancellations. See our Return Policy for more information regarding returns.
NOTE: We reserve the right to refuse any return. Firearms are not returnable after the transfer has taken place. We do not accept returns on ammunition.
Are Prices subject to change?
Our prices never change with industry politics. However, manufacturers generally raise prices at least once a year. This causes our prices to change. This usually applies to all items. Due to the special nature of some items, exact prices are not known until delivery is made to us. We reserve the right to change pricing when necessary. Sometimes website errors do occur, in these cases we reserve the right to cancel the sale if the sale price or terms was incorrect.
Incorrect Orders/Other Errors
Incorrectly listed items happen from time to time. If a product is not the product you ordered, either before or after shipping, we will either replace the product or give you a full refund. We will not replace products that have been used. You may contact the manufacturer to inquire about what level of warranty they offer.

Are there age restrictions on purchasing firearms?
You must be 21 years of age to purchase a handgun or shotgun with a pistol grip. You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase a rifle or standard shotgun (without a pistol grip)
How long till my order ships?
We can ship orders as fast as 48 hours after receiving the FFL license from your dealer. If you haven not requested your dealer send us his license yet please do so now. Follow instructions under step #2 here.
What do I bring to the FFL dealer?
When picking up your firearm, please bring photo ID and any other supporting documents.
