    WTF BPB?

The only thing worse than the music for that show is the poster for that show. WTF is that supposed to be? Some sort of half-human, half-sea-anemone creature, with legs in front of the X and "head" behind it. It actually hurts my eyes. And they think the Big Dipper is the only train crash in...

    Camelot - Closed for good

    WTF Merlin?

Many years ago when I designed merch for Merlin the files they supplied me with were so poor it took ages to rework as usable for badges, magnets, keyrings etc. I wouldn't blame a similar company now trying to use short-cuts, but I would at the very least check how many seats are on a train (and...

    Coaster/park industry news articles

Brands Untapped have an article about which brands would make good rollercoasters: https://www.brandsuntapped.com/paw-patrol-and-bluey-rollercoasters-are-on-the-way-which-other-brands-are-ripe-for-rides/

    WTF Merlin?

No they don't. It may well be in their interests to approve all applications but they're a not-for-profit company and most of their income is from consultancy and tie-ins.

    WTF Merlin?

The Access card specifically says ONE essential companion - Merlin should just stick to that. But it is hard to say no to disabled people. I run a theatre, and trying to find the balance between access customers and actually turning a profit can be difficult. I'd say the number of people...

    WTF Merlin?

I took a quick look at a couple of other parks and it seems they allow one essential carer to accompany the Access Card holder, whereas Merlin allow 3 people to accompany the disabled person. I guess that's because they don't want to split up families but that's obviously going to have an effect...

    WTF Merlin?

I agree it's nuanced, and obviously they need to find a balance. But I also think 7pm is too early. I would open until 9pm and then guests are more likely to buy food and drink while in there. But it also needs commitment, so that people know it's open that late and can go after school or work...

    WTF Merlin?

Closing times in general are very annoying. It's not just Merlin, but UK parks seem to close at 6pm at best. I know there are staffing costs, but when many visitors will be aware of US and European parks staying open later it's just not good enough anymore.

Taking the piss now. It's like performance art or something.

    WTF BPB?

Getting an e-mail with the subject "It's time - the moment you've all been waiting for..." which turns out be about the opening of this year's Hot Ice Show and not, say, any new ride or the re-opening of Grand National just about sums up all that's wrong with Blackpool Pleasure Beach lately.

    WTF Merlin?

Yeah, you’d imagine so…. it’s just this is Blackpool Council we’re talking about!

    WTF Merlin?

Seems more a case of Blackpool taking it back from Merlin, rather than being given up. I'd love to know what happened here - those attractions are in a much better state than when Merlin inherited them and I'm not really confident Blackpool Council will do as good a job running them.

Universal United Kingdom Resort | Bedford, UK | Theme Park

A Wicked land would basically be The Wizard of Oz, which was first published 125 years ago and has never gone out of print. I think it's fair to say by now that it's quite popular.
