What’s the wettest you’ve ever gotten on a non-water ride?

Joris en de Draak on my last trip. It was torrential rain just as the train left the station. The rain ended up flooding the car park it was that bad.

leaped out while my dad briefly talked to my mum off ride, got told off and we left the park early. (i loved swimming)

I’ve had two new nominees for this thread since my last post. Funnily enough, both were on gyroswings!

• The first nominee was Cyclonator at Paultons Park in June 2025. It was pretty dreary weather for the entire day and the park was deserted as a result, but during my one go on this, it started raining very hard and I got absolutely soaked, with the raindrops piercing my face as we flew around! I had one on Storm Chaser straight after that was also pretty wet.
• The one that takes the cake, though, is probably an experience on Aviktas at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in June 2026. We were sat down ready to go, but the wind speed was teetering on the limit, so we weren’t allowed to go; as we were sat down waiting, the rain grew almost Florida-level in its intensity, and because we were all strapped in waiting to go, we couldn’t go anywhere and this intense rain was pelting down on us for at least a good 5-10 minutes before the ride ops eventually let us off the ride and put us back in the queue, meaning that we all gradually got colder and more soaked as we were sat in the ride waiting to be dispatched!

We actually discussed putting our waterproof trousers on before the ride, knowing the weather was likely to turn. We decided against it, and the rain kicked off (full Florida drenching) just as the ride started up.

During one of the UKs many heatwaves this summer, I popped into Thorpe on my lunch break to ride Stealth. Staff at the ride exit had a hose pipe and were dousing everyone on the train as it turned the final corner into the brakes.

(I also think they might have been using the hose to cool the sensors in that area, because they've been having issues with trains getting stuck just before the ride exit platform)

It was fun! Got absolutely drenched, which was very welcome in 34° heat.

During a visit to ScareFest at Alton Towers last year, there was torrential rain all day. Probably the quietest I've ever seen ScareFest tbh! @Slamming Coastercore and I saved Nemesis for a night ride, of course, resulting in rain water cascading onto our laps from the wheel covers above as we began our ascent up the lift hill.

I've done the sky swing at SFoG in some nasty sleet. My coat got soaked through and it ended my day at the park.
