I think the most interesting topic of discussion would be how the Windseeker will compare to the alleged cancelled StarFlyer installation.
The height of the Windseeker is impressive but the ride vehicles are going to be nowhere as thrilling as the swings would have been.
I think this is...
Regardless of whether this is true or not, it's worth mentioning that 'Superman Escape' at Movie World, Aus has a top hat followed by a (much improved) Rita-esque layout.
There have been accidents in the past where trains have collided at 6/7mph and caused serious whiplash, fractures and other injuries - look at PMBO etc.
30-35 could be fatal...I doubt it was going that fast.
Also, it's beside the point how fast it was going, it shouldn't have happened.
The 13 queue is my least favourite part of the ride experience, for a company that harped on so much about how important an 'immersive' queue was in the 1990s - it's nearly as bad as Rita's.
Wrapping a branch around a van does not constitute themeing.
I haven't ridden it but the various Youtube videos make it look as if the launch system is similar to an Intamin Accelerator but uses friction brakes instead of magnetic? Like Premier Rides?
Not good news anyway, especially since Xcelerator hasn't been open too long since its own incident.
Not sure that's quite true anymore, although I suspect Disney would still have you believe that.
It was 5am - the ride was stopped when he started working and apparently started up as he worked.
I can't imagine what he would be cleaning that could result in such a horrific thing - it's not as if it's a coaster car that comes hurtling towards you out of a tunnel.
*shrugs*
Very sad, and I'm sure - avoidable.
...Yeah, good call re; planning.
Camelot have made some bizarre decisions over the years and I think they have had a pretty long lasting effect on the park. Like the area where the outdoor swimming pool used to be - I spent my childhood there, it was a great kids area and it was all bulldozed...
^ Very true. The thing about Camelot it has a fantastic theme that just isn't exploited anymore - and I suspect this is down to cost. I have some FANTASTIC memories of the place when I was younger and the park was still in its infancy, it was ground breaking - one of (the first?) true UK 'theme'...
The early days were much better - if you look at the old school rides, like the defunct Tower of Terror & Vemon/Beast, those rides really looked great.
Additions in later years though, not so much.
I hope they get the money (I voted) - but can't but feel that the majority of non-enthusiasts on the site will ensure the money goes elsewhere.
The lack of clarity in terms of how this is going to work in the long run is also worrying from a casual voter's perspective, I would suspect.
I guess it depends on how queues are elsewhere on park.
I think the thing for me is that while X was never Spiderman or Droomvlucht, it was more than a coaster in the dark. The effects weren't particularly special or massively interesting but they added to it.
What was a fairly average...
It looked pretty cool and its unreliability works in its favour in the end as you would pass it expecting to see nothing which on the few times it did work it was pretty exciting and unexpected.
There were also some small sparks on an net above.
On the backwards drop. Jim Rowland (former park...
