    Oakwood - 19/08/09

I do wish they'd do something about Speed's surroundings. Megafobia isn't themed, but is very well landscaped and fits in with its surroundings perfectly. Hydro sticks out like a sore thumb, but it feels deliberate and industrial somehow. Speed is in, what, its 3rd or 4th season? And it still...

    Barry Island Set To Close

I haven't been on here in a while, I hadn't seen this news. I used to live in Cardiff and go to Barry Island sometimes when I was a kid. The log flume felt like it had an impossibly steep drop, Viper was the scariest coaster in the world (for all the wrong reasons, it felt/looks like it was made...

    New coaster for Kennywood

So does this do the circuit twice, once forward and once backwards? I couldn't quite work it out from the video and description - but I was a bit too distracted on the video by the horrible No Limits recreation! An interestingly shaped corkscrew for sure... Maybe it was by the same guy who...

$1.34 Billion Paramount Park for Osaka

Interesting. USJ has been struggling for a few years now, they're currently advertising lower prices this month for entering after 4pm and they've slashed the prices of their annual passes, so it's a little curious that Paramount are opening a new park so nearby (especially given their own park...

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

^You should, they're waaaaaaay better than the films (not that I'm criticizing the films, I like them!). The trailers for this film have been awesome, the music at the end is fantastic. Compare and contrast with the plinky plunky music of the first film and you can tell how tonally dark the...

    "Cobra" - PAX Loop 520 for Conny-Land

I know ride experience is far more important, and it's great that a little park can get a big thrilling coaster on a small budget, but oh **** that track is ugly!

Thirteen, Intamin ''psychoaster'' - Alton Towers 2010

Hello, what's this my eagle eyes have spotted at the back of the Observer's travel section yesterday? Clicky if you can't see image above. 1. Surely SW6. 2. It's a drop! And potentially only a short one by the sounds of it. Backwards? Upside down? Both? It'll have to be something...

"Anubis" - Gerstlauer Launch for Plopsaland

Definitely does to me! I think the top hat - dive loop - twisty hill - immelmann combination looks awesome. 2009 seems to be the 'very interesting-looking LSM coasters in Europe' year!

    Charybdis & Scylla (Download- Page7)

ZOMG that looks amazing, quite a lot better than Dueling Dragons! I don't know if you're asking for suggestions about the support colour, but I actually quite like that track colours as they are. Beige supports would be kinda dull, but would probably work on both.

    "Terminator" Woodie for SFMM

That's looking good, better than Cyclone anyway! Also where does 'dead man turn' get its name from? I've never heard that term used before.

"Anubis" - Gerstlauer Launch for Plopsaland

Blue really is the colour this year, and that's a particularly nice shade. Good to see they've left they old trees in too and created a bit of an avenue for the coaster to run through, hopefully that'll create a cool effect on-ride.

    Nürburgring | Ring°Racer | S&S Compressed Air Launch

That's a weird-looking piece. I think this is a new style of track from S&S (haven't looked at this topic in a while), looks strangely flat.

"Blue Fire" Mack Coaster for Europa Park

^I can't even tell what bit of track connects to what any more, even though I have a reasonable idea of the layout... Looks amazing, I hope the ride itself can live up to the amazing theming surrounding it.

    Alton Towers Latest Rumours/confirmations

I can't be arsed going through pages of spam and arguement to find out, but has the steepness of the lift been raised before? Having a look at the plans, they're pretty detailed, and the lift hill is not very steep at all - in fact it's even shallower than Corkscrew's. The mage-lites so far...

    Intamin [UC]

Whoa, that looks amazing! Any idea when you might release it?

"SAW - The Ride" - Eurofighter for Thorpe Park

^It says to me that the coaster section was finished long ago, and we've known the layout for months. There's really nothing left to talk about with regards the coaster part for now, so we'll talk about the part that's still being constructed and we know less about. And about half the budget has...

"SAW - The Ride" - Eurofighter for Thorpe Park

It was completed a month ago, there's only so much you can say about a coaster that's complete but not open! Also in terms of cost, the theming's about half of this ride, so it is a pretty important element. And it's the only thing that's being constructed :P Just to be boring and add my...

    Gravity Group unveils new trains

http://thegravitygroup.com/gravitycast/timberliner/ Like Millennium Flyers basically, but the most interesting part is... I think the Alton Towers thread is about to go into overdrive :p

"Blue Fire" Mack Coaster for Europa Park

I noticed they've got 'Blue Fire' written on them too, is that the name of this ride? Would certainly fit. There's also a picture of the full layout of this coaster. The trains themselves look like they could be the most open design on the market. There's nothing to them, and they use...

    Alton Towers Latest Rumours/confirmations

Errr, like Air? Seriously, don't try and read too much into what he said. He going to say all sorts of things when he's on the news to get the GP interested. We won't have any idea what this might be for a while yet.
