What is the Best Log Flume?

Haha Menhir Express! An absolute soaker, to me largely because all of the turns felt too tight for the speed of the water in the channel so water was permanently sloshing over the side every time we hit the wall, which was always. I could imagine it was designed by people that hadn’t ridden many...

What is the Best Log Flume?

Chiapas, surely! If anything just for the backwards disco section, let alone the rest of the incredible ride.

A park with the best and worst coaster in one!

To take the topic title completely literally: The Ultimate, Lightwater Valley. To be clear, I bloody love it and it has some incredible moments, the second half mad dash through the forest in particular and the thigh-destroying orbital-airtime bunny hop shortly after. It could also be...

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster | 2020

I really hope that it’s the case, and an October/November opening does take place. I imagine many are in a similar position to me - I will book a trip over this year if it opens, but otherwise will wait until next season. Can’t say I’m optimistic though, every photo from inside the area looks...

Universal Studios Japan | Super Nintendo World | New land | 2021

Also seems some video from the land’s website has been found. There’s a second video in the tweet after this one: Edit: Blooloop article with some more info here: https://blooloop.com/news/super-nintendo-world-leaked-website-mario-kart-ride/

How many time zones have you ridden coasters in?

Nice idea! Just 3 for me: UTC (UK) UTC+1 (Netherlands, Germany, France, Sweden, Spain, Denmark) UTC-5 (New York, Connecticut, Ohio, Pennsylvania)

What order for the European parks?

(I thought about posting this in the trip planning area, but I think there is plenty that covers general discussion too. Feel free to move it if deemed best!) Like many on the forum, I’m always thinking about which parks I’ll be visiting this year or the next. Many on the continent are easily...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

Not to mention in a post-Brexit world bringing in the hundreds of trucks across the channel. They may be ok coming in, but post-Dec 31st the transition period ends and all bets are off at this stage. Olympia Looping alone requires 50 trucks, they can’t afford to get even one stuck in a lorry...

    Magic Land Bosnia & Herzegovina

It looks good fun, and it’s a hell of a length. I always wonder how stable these single rail alpine coasters feel though! It also regularly criss-crosses the ski slopes. Does it get partly removed for the winter season? Or do they keep making enough snow to bury it and hope no-one uncovers...

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster | 2020

I was just looking at booking for a weekend in November but was holding off as didn’t think Fly would be open this year. If it does though, I’ll be there like a shot. It’s already got an absurdly good collection of rides, with Fly it’ll be really a tier above.

    Intamin Unveils Four New Concepts

That wallride dive is absolutely filthy.

Next European Park to get a B&M

Fascinating discussion, until this I hadn’t really considered that B&M have almost shut off the European market for themselves. Looking at today’s new concept announcements from Intamin, or indeed Vekoma’s, RMC’s and even Gerst’s embracing of new elements and profiling, B&M now feel a bit stale...

Plopsaland de Panne | The Ride to Happiness | Mack Xtreme Spinning Coaster | 2021

Good point, and I imagine the concrete offers good protection when any debris comes in the flood waters. This all makes me wonder why Gerstlauer again have gone off trend and just have their steel supports go directly into the water. Yes, it’s just an hour and ten drive from the Calais side...

Plopsaland de Panne | The Ride to Happiness | Mack Xtreme Spinning Coaster | 2021

I know what you mean - lakes are often the most tranquil parts of parks that serve as good breaks from the ride-heavy areas that dazzle the senses, bit of a shame to lose that here. On the other hand I agree it’ll probably look amazing over the water as well as perhaps increasing the...

Silver Dollar City | Mystic River Falls | River Rapids

Completely agree, and looking at the flat expanse of dirt visible on Google Maps satellite view, the landscaping they’ve done is really impressive as well.

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster | 2020

But I think it’s also fair to say that the presence of crowds, and other movement like the coaster trains flying above, smoke from chimneys, turning cogs and pistons, all really help to bring life to an area that is currently hard to see. Until we see the area from ground level, whether in...

Busch Gardens Williamsburg | Pantheon | Intamin LSM Coaster | 2022

Still such a dick move though. Every supplier will have further smaller suppliers, some potentially small businesses already struggling with this pretty awful economic environment. For a company with multi-million dollar turnover to withhold payments at this time I think is a very low move...

    Disney (WDW & Disneyland) | Tiana's Bayou Adventure | Splash Mountain retheme | 2024

To agree with what Pear is saying - BLM doesn’t mean that all other lives don’t matter, of course not. I’ve attached an image that goes with the house on fire analogy, but the video below summarises it as well as possible: Finally for everyone saying that they haven’t noticed that Splash...

    Tripsdrill | Hals-Über-Kopf & Volldampf | Vekoma STC & Family Boomerang Coaster

Looks amazing, so smooth, surprisingly long, great footchoppers, nice spacing between inversions. And the theming is awesome, it’s going to fit into that part of the park really well with that theming and the retention of trees. I take back everything I said about this standing out or changing...

    Fantastic old coaster footage/pics

Apologies if this has been shared before, but came across these pretty amazing pictures of a 1901 wooden duelling looper in Atlantic City:
