Oddest story I'll read all day I think...but in Attraction Magazine there has been a study into Kidney Stones which has found that riding Big Thunder Mountain in Disneyland has helped people with kidney stones to pass them while riding!

On BBC they've released the CCTV footage of the accident;

Which clearly shows the valleyed train on the track.
Will this have an impact on all coaster operations from now on?
It will, if they've been shown to go over the recommendations then slap wrists all round. Will see a lot of rides closing quickly and lots of frustrated visitors at all Merlin parks.
I'm also reading the engineers are not to blame...
The public where I work want us to save a 22,000 tonne aircraft carrier from the scrapyard as an attraction merely because it be 'good to have' does that mean they'll get it? No, it's totally impractical, costs too much money, and no idea the amount of work that goes on to operate/maintain etc...
The size of that turn on the left is ridiculously small in scale, compare it to the size of Swarm's on the right, which is quite a small turn in it's self! Plus that's only a turn back into the station brake run.
Re: Mean Streak Removal - What's Next?
You'd think a company who's good at assembling rides would be quite nifty at taking apart a large ride such as Mean Streak and get paid money for it. Oh and it's quite a tall ride, might need a crane for that!
I think Oblivion when it first opened where it reinforces you're going to die and there is no coming back and you can see the trains plunging into the tunnel and it's all working psychologically on you. It made me chicken out on it years ago, obviously since ridden it many times, but it still...
As a Portsmouth fan I am horrendously biased, but there is a charm about the old lady Fratton Park that can never be replaced by a souless bowl! I sit in the Fratton End which towers over the other stands. It has a Archibald Leitch stand which has the famous mock tudor offices attached to it! If...
Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Project 2018
I can't get excited about a skip and spray paint markings.
The ride won't be advertised/built until next year as otherwise no one will visit BPB next year and take a hit on the gates. Need to time it right against Alton Towers so when they show...
Re: Wanda Hefei|White Dragon in Sky |Intamin Launch Semi-Shu
Love how it's not lined up going into the tilt section, slightly moves to the right. Also the exit to that corkscrew is rather vile.
Excuse me Jarrett, everyone reacts different to situations, he probably as the article stated panicked and made a poor judgement call on what to do. It sounds like human error, and yes he probably lost his job over the incident.
Also that massive essay of a post prior to that quote, what on...
The Ultimate- If you look at photographs of it you'd think it's pretty tame, but oh my word it's aggressive but amazing at the same time.
Dragon Khan as well, so good, especially at night.
