Re: VR-Coaster virus hits SixFlags
And that's not even the only rough one ;). Seems like a bit of a stupid idea on some of the rides imho. To make a good VR coaster, a ride needs to be smooth really - and less nauseating than most. A lot of those rides don't tick either of those boxes.
And...

Surprised this hasn't been posted yet:

Anyway, looks like they've finally done something right this year. It's IMAscore, so of course it's good, but this one sounds particularly amazing - almost better...
Re: USJ | Flying Dinosaur | B&M Flying Coaster
Wow wow wow. Certainly the best B&M flyer yet - unlike the others (excluding Starry Sky Ripper which looks fab), there doesn't seem to be a dull moment. No meandering about at all!
That pretzel loop looks like the highlight of the ride to me...
Re: Your B&M Count
I've got those 13 too, as well as:
Raptor (Gardaland)
Katun (Mirabilandia)
So 15
So I'm still pretty basic, but when can we start counting original Hulk as 'rare'?
;)
I can't see cred spiting coming up much in this thread!
It doesn't look pretty does it?
However, I'm sure Intamin has our best interests at heart - hopefully, the real reason behind it is to deliver some unexpected airtime :p . I've never really experienced any on Stealth, and unless the trims/brakes are seriously effective, I've got a feeling it...
Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Project 2017
I thought the Smiler got a decent reception actually, and it's probably my second favourite ride at the park. 14 inversions was a decent gimmick which ensured they built something of sustenance. As has been mentioned, the problems lay in its technical...
Yeah, I think you hit the nail right on the head there Joey. Let's take my own county, Cambridgeshire, which is great in every way, apart from the fact it has no permanent coasters. The best we get is a rather **** Go-gator for a week each year, which I haven't even bothered with...

You know the Mods are just poised online, waiting for us to get to 9 don't you?
At least they're being sassy about it ;)
(EDIT: I think I was on page 2 when I posted this, so apologies for so blatantly cheating)
Re: Universal IOA to close Hulk for new enhancements
I meant all the ones which are being demolished and replaced ;) Hulk(ish), disaster, Kong (not open yet), Beetlejuice, disaster and twister! Not the best time to visit...I also posted the wrong video, so that should help!
Anyway, back to...
Re: Alton Towers submits planning permission
Completely agree. I think they need to just play it simple a few times, not confusing people with the theme, or overmarketing it.
I really can't see what their problem is with just adding a few flat rides? Yes they won't be 'world beating' in 'true...
Re: Universal IOA to close Hulk for new enhancements
^Yes it is - you can see it at the end of this video: (from intheloop in disguise)
EDIT: Oops, wrong video...

Unfortunately, I doubt it'll retain its characteristic roar, but when I rode it a few...
