I would presume that tomorrow, a Saturday of a bank holiday weekend at the start of half term, will be when the queue setup is truly tested. Getting such a high queue on a workday is already quite a feat.
My incredibly scientific analysis of this video yields 2 findings:
1) This shows off Hyperias scale better than any static video from the ground. It's hilarious to see how much the ride overshadows the rest of the park, but other footage just didn't get that across.
2) That first drop still...
It's a mixed message within the parks. But its so refreshing to see the "this is dangerous, our parks are full of dark secrets" mantra for advertising rides be dropped, particularly for a ride where that could have been exploited the most. The ride is already scary enough in concept: it's...
Couldn't agree more. Thorpe Park works great as an amusement park. Alton Towers can naturally achieve more immersion with each land because of how enclosed they are. Whereas there's no point in pretending you're by a volcano when you can see a flooded 50s town and a zombie outpost from the...
I already rambled in a trip report about it. But I found Nemesis Reborn to be quite disappointing. The theming that has been done varies from quite good to excellent, with the general re-styling of the other buildings in the area creating a nice cohesion around the ride. However, the mud-pits...
After getting spited out of our first ride on opening day, we made our way back to give it another go and further justify our merlin passes! We were successful in getting on the new-ish ride, though I can't say we felt we got an experience worthy of the renewal....
...aaanyway, going through...
Does anyone happen to know who's working on the project (eg: a UK Universal Creative branch)? Just in case their design team might looking for underqualified engineers at the moment 😅.
Personally, I think it's a great idea. They're not trying to market themselves as for thrillseekers, and it appears much more fitting for a family-oriented lineup.
If the cars are comfortable, then the softer theme and shutter ride type would make it an amazing step up coaster to lead towards AT.
Thorpe Park is back open! Unfortunately the rides didn't quite seem to be ready to start a new season as our day was mostly spent navigating around breakdowns. Please enjoy my thoughts, along with the mediocre pics of Hyperia from around the park!
Storm surge - 6/10
It's a fun filler ride...
Has Inferno had a support fracture?
Today was a bit of an operations disaster. Aside from some hail that (naturally) closed all of the rides for 40 mins, I'm not sure there was a single point where all 6 coasters were open at once, at one point we were down to having just 2 open with constant...
Even though I sadly missed the chance to ride it (which I will quietly remain forever salty about). I would agree with everyone that the theming work they've done is fantastic. The atmosphere around the ride area was unmatched by anything in the park, the station is so much more convincingly...
