What is your favourite non-Merlin UK coaster?

Icon is an easy #1 for me. Enso as a separate ride would be a league above that. Munich/Olympia Looping would be a very close #2 if that counts (it does for me but I love a good discussion). Grand National would be 3rd as we had an absolute blast on it after the retracking.

    Cedar Point | Top Thrill 2 | Triple Launch Renovation | 2024

To be fair, I'd take every opportunity that I could to talk about the Flying Fish, so I understand why it has multiple entries. 😋

Lagoon | Primordial | ART Engineering/Triotech Dark Ride Coaster

Would this qualify as the longest active construction time for a rollercoaster?

Six Flags Qiddiya| Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

Does anyone know how much FF has cost? The scale of it is just insane.

    Alton Towers' Next Big Thing?

£22,638 to request approval for a small warehouse? I hope they got some good feedback on the project.

Chessington World of Adventures planning indoor waterpark - public consultation on Wednesday 16th November

I'm so happy they're planning a center parcs esque rapids section. They're always so much fun to marathon and muck about in and its such a shame they're not more common. The whole complex looks absolutely lovely in my opinion, I'd definitely stay over with this as an evening activity.

    Favourite Movie Soundtrack

Grand Budapest Hotel. It's absolutely magical as part of the film, and wonderful to listen to separately.

Duel at Alton Towers closing on 6th September - retheme or refurbishment for 2023?

We went Thursday last week and it only broke down once all day for about 15 minutes. So, hopefully it's all ok?

The Return of Nemesis Sub Terra?

The preshow video has been reworked to incorporate the phalanx more and they have removed the crab monster graphics. I didn't notice any differences for the rest of the ride & post-show, based on what I remember.

The Return of Nemesis Sub Terra?

We had a go on it on Thursday. The ride concept is still very neat but operations have hampered the whole experience. Ride attendants are all doing a great job but the lap bars just aren't closing properly? They had the two attendants putting all of their weight on the bar and getting all of us...

The Return of Nemesis Sub Terra?

That looks much better. I just wish they had a nice arch to hold it up instead of the scaffolding.

    Cedar Point | Top Thrill 2 | Triple Launch Renovation | 2024

While we can debate whether Zamperla, Intamin, Pinfari, or even an in-house team is responsible for the refurbishment. I'm quite impressed that the project is this far along while revealing such little information.

    Your Number 0 Coaster.

Mine would easily be Stealth. I went to Thorpe park for the first time the year it opened, I was too short to ride it, so looked into it and found a love for the engineering behind rollercoasters as a result. I wouldn't be an enthusiast, maybe not even an engineer, had it not been so alluring...

    Queue Time Displays

Probably every 15-30 mins? It was always in reaction to changes but the queues always hit a fairly consistent equilibrium on most days so the wait only fluctuated by 5-10 minutes.

    Your Least Common Opinion?

I'm sure someone has already said this, but I think SLCs are pretty great rides. Yeah they can be rough as hell, but are nothing compared to a bad woodie or arrow, and the layout is very fun! They don't really hold a candle to B&Ms, but they're good rides that allowed a lot of smaller parks to...

    Queue Time Displays

For Merlin parks, its the ride ops guessing based on how far through the queue the line stretches to. They see the end of the line on the cameras, call a central control team, and get them to update the time on the system. There were never any policies of inflating wait times to encourage fast...

COTALAND | Texas | Gerstlauer Infinity Shuttle (Palindrome) & Vekoma Tilt (Circuit Breaker) & Others

I really doubt that they're in financial troubles. As everyone has already rightly said, the area makes an ungodly amount of money from the f1 and its only projected to increase. Cotaland has gone from a vision of a small park to pick up straggler families to entertain the kids for a while, to a...

    RMC Strata-Loop

Following the merger of RMC and Larson, people could only wonder with baited breath what could come from the melding of such innovative minds. What could be accomplished with the ever-changing technology of RMC, and Larson's perfection of the concept of the vertical loop? The result was almost...

Idea for a restraint safety system

I reckon that, if the sensor reach is not large enough to measure from the closed harness to the seat, using it in tandem with the usual closing angle of the harness could be used to automatically determine if a seat is empty or not (if both pairs of sensors are maxed out while the harness angle...

Idea for a restraint safety system

So, as a result of the seemingly increase in accidents involving restraints not being properly lowered to secure guests, I had an idea at random of an alternate way to sense a restraint's position & wanted to see what y'all thought regarding it's feasibility! Using Mack restraints as an...
