Best tower ride in UK 2021?

Apocalypse any day. Detonator might have a more forceful drop but doesn't compare to the fear from the tilting drops. Ice blast is a pleasant 3rd imo.

Why has the UK seemingly been unable to top Nemesis?

It will definitely be beaten eventually. As great as the ride is, we have evidence that it can be beaten, there have been countless rides that (are widely agreed to) top it (including Smiler imo). Its just a matter of investing a lot of money into a ride that does not capture the widest...

    WTF Merlin?

So 7 bits of Acrylic count as immersion themeing now? The scaffolding queue fence is a nice touch too.

If you owned the UK’s 4 Merlin theme parks, what would you do to each of them?

This got a bit out of hand but still really fun to think about! Thorpe Park [Aim: Replace outdated rides, improve overall value and rework Thorpe into a strictly thrill park for older families, teens & adults] Yeah... I would add a LOT here. All of this is incredibly unrealistic but I tried to...

Kent, England | The London Resort | Entertainment Complex

Why even bother posting on the thread if you're just going to put people down for being optimistic when a project has made genuine progress?

    Rank the Intamin Launch Coasters

    1) TTD - Just the best experience I've had on a coaster when riding at night in the front. 2) Maverick - Great layout. Great length. The launch itself is insanely fun and seemed to get stronger as you sped up. 3) Formula Rossa - While the launch is noticeably less forceful than Stealth or TTD...

SeaWorld Orlando | Pipeline: The Surf Coaster | B&M Surf Coaster | 2023

Could someone explain the cost breakdown here? $4.5m seems way too cheap for a debut concept ride from B&M.

What is the most surprising airtime moment you’ve experienced in your enthusiast career?

Big Dipper at BPB has one pop of painful ejector in the back when cresting the fourth hill. I recorded my phone accelerometer readings for a uni project, and that hill consistently produced -2g during each ride.

    Deno's Wonder Wheel Park | Phoenix | Vekoma Suspended coaster | 2021

It could be that Sansei saw the success of the SFC, assigned S&S to manufacture a variant for the US market, but the Vekoma models were so appealing that parks insisted for them instead. By the time the first few had been shipped, a supply chain was set up and the S&S model was obsolete?

    Deno's Wonder Wheel Park | Phoenix | Vekoma Suspended coaster | 2021

How was Merlin's Mayhem a failure? Other than a delayed opening, it looks like an awesome family ride.

What is going on with Thorpe park?

It's almost always been my home park and we used to own annual passes around the opening of Saw. But the state of the park the last few times I've been has been pretty dismal. The past 5 years of investment has devalued the park from a fun day with awesome rides to a tacky, unpleasant day out...

    Rank the Alton Towers coasters

Went a bit more in-depth than I expected, but here ya go: 1. Smiler An absolute marvel of Engineering and ride design. Intense enough to match the US parks, it doesn't fall into the merlin trap of incredibly short ride times because all the money was spent on theming (glares at Wicker man). The...
