Energylandia | Hyperion | Intamin Hyper coaster

Whilst the poll may not have been *the* deciding factor it probably was a factor when they were making their final decision. Sometimes it can come down to pretty small details when deciding between 2 suppliers.

    WTF Merlin?

Efteling gets just under 6 million visitors a year and (on paper) they look fairly similar. The only difference is that Efteling is a 365 day park.

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster | 2020

Is it me or does it seem like they're concentrating on the theming around the edges of the site at the moment? It could just be the nature of the way they're constructing it but maybe they are using it to hide what's going on at the heart of the construction site

    How Long Would You Wait?

As someone lucky enough to be able to visit parks during the week/off season (I work shift as do a lot of my friends) I generally put an upper limit of around 45 minutes indicated. Most of my park visits have been when it's totally dead and even the biggest coasters are walk on so I guess I'm...

    "Injured" during a ride ?

I get what I call 'Vekoma Ankles' sometimes at parks: loads of little bruises and (sometimes) cuts on my lower legs after trying to fold myself into Vekoma, Arrow or some Intamin train cars. I get headaches from some of the woodies at BPB and SAW at Thorpe. Managed to fall onto the hardwood...

    Rank the B&M Hyper coasters

    1. Mako Hours and hours of glorious airtime, nice forceful turnaround, and a beautiful floater hill into a nice turn over the lake. I can't see how B&M hypers can get any better than this (although read my Silver Star entry below) 2. Hollywood Dream: The Ride My first B&M Hyper (Mega?), I...

Why is Holiday Park so odd?

I did notice that EGE operates different to other Intamin coasters, the biggest difference is that the catch car comes all the way into the station . On Goliath at Walibi it's on the lift hill and requires the drive tyres to push the train up a few meters before it catches. It also has a remote...

Does Drayton Manor ever get/near full park capacity?

As far as I know, the only time it hits/gets near capacity is during the fireworks. I will have to defer to those who have been on real peak days but when I've been the operations have been pretty decent but the capacity for some rides isn't amazing. It tends to be Thomas Land which is...

Why is Holiday Park so odd?

Who else has actually been to Holiday Park? I went yesterday for the first time and loved the place. Really, if you exclude Geforce the park looks like a small regional park similar to many across Europe and America. There's a kids area (a pretty big one, with the indoor warehouse thing opening...

Land Of Legends | Hyper Coaster | Mack Hyper Coaster

Is Could it be that the 150cm restriction refers to the back row similar to Icon and Blue Fire? The rest of the rows being 130cm IIRC. Might be an issue in translation/communication.

Cedar Point | Steel Vengeance | RMC I-Box (Mean Streak Conversion)

Going slightly off topic but I did Wildfire (Kolmarden) the other day, my first RMC, and I fully understand why some people love SV and some people hate it. Towards the end of the day I just found the intensity a bit too much and I still have bruises from the lapbar/leg thingys. I've been told...

    Colossus Headbang

Looks like you've all cursed Colossus with all of your negativity. it's been closed for a couple of days and they've even closed off the walkway/plaza running through the area

    WTF Merlin?

Fair enough, but the crossover in the Venn Diagram of 'Coaster Enthusiasts' and 'Love Island Viewers' are probably pretty small. But still, I don't see why people are complaining. I don't like scare mazes or TWD but I don't complain about TWD or Scare Mazes at Thorpe Park. If it gets people...

    WTF Merlin?

As I've said before: Thorpe really know their audience. Hint: they won't be reading this forum. Looking at my non-enthusiast friends who have visited Thorpe in the last few years quite a few of them post/tweet about Love Island. In seriousness, it's good to see the beach being used when it...

    Most Obscure Coaster you've ridden

Mine is the Rocky Coaster at the Suzuka Circuit (mini) theme park. On CC it's had 27 other riders. I seem to remember it was a pretty fun little ride! https://rcdb.com/1225.htm

Alton Towers | Wicker Man | GCI Wood

I think the restright thing is weird, I had to be at the upper click on both my rides and I was fine. I saw people (much) smaller than me being stapled in and generally having issues. I understand (although I could be wrong) that Wicker Man is only the second GCI after Woden to NOT have...

Alton Towers | Wicker Man | GCI Wood

The issue I have with the preshow is that the projection was of pretty low resolution, I could see the individual pixels and the framerate wasn't smooth either. I was (A) at the front of the room and (2) a video engineer so I'm more aware of it than most I would guess.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach | Icon | Mack Multi-Launch

Go and try Altair at Cinecitta world. I rode it the 2nd year it was in operation and it was rougher than SAW or Smiler. Typical Intamin.
