Best websites to count / rank coasters

I guess it helps that we all started with it ages ago when the whole process of adding creds on it wasn't as burdenous as it is now. I started using it in 2012 and for a few years their smartphone web-app was still a thing and it allowed adding a bunch of coasters at once. The current site works...

Best websites to count / rank coasters

My go-to page is coaster-count, though I agree that ranking the favorites on it is a bit awkward and doesn't allow ranking outside of your top 10. It's easily the most thorough list of coasters out there and they keep a good eye on the travelling coasters (at least in the European fair circuit)...

That does not sound particularly appetising.

Rank the water coasters you've ridden

Considering I haven't ridden a huge number of coasters, I've actually been on a surprisingly large number of water coasters, which I would rank as follow: 1. Pulsar, Walibi Belgium (Mack PowerSplash) - a lot of fun, using the SRQ on a crowded Saturday, I managed to get 7 rides on my visit and I...

What is your mentality towards riding kiddie coasters?

I guess B? Though there are other factors to consider. I would likely never pay a steep entrance fee for a park that only has a small kiddie/family coaster (e.g. I gave Aussie World and their 30+ AU$ entrance fee a miss) and I wouldn't try and argue my way into a kids only park/coaster (if they...

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

How are those 80m tall waterslides even possible is kind of beyond me, that final helix is probably the closest we'll get to euthanasia coaster in real life.

How would you rank these three European woodies?

Troy was absolutely hauling last September and it's by far my favorite wooden coaster now. It just delivers exactly what a good wooden coaster should, has a good layout and tons of character. Now it's been a few years, since I rode either of the other two, but I think Wodan has the slight edge...

What Started As A Matterhorn Question And Is Now A Merged General Discussion On What Counts as Coaster Credit

Splitting hairs here, but what if a park operates their Mobius Loop coaster like Mirabilandia operates (or operated, it's been almost 10 years since I last visited) Master Thai? Two distinct stations were built, but they were only using one, thus letting the riders ride both sides without ever...

    Fantastic old coaster footage/pics

Are you sure it wasn't this ride from Datong Water Park and it ended up in Duane's 'rainy day folder'? We've previously discussed it in 2018 in this topic (I haven't send the info about the ride to rcdb, as I've given up trying to submit info about long defunct coasters)...

    Fantastic old coaster footage/pics

That's not the same ride. The one in Asian Paradise descended straight into the corkscrew, while the Datong corkscrew coaster had a flat turn after the lift hil and thus traversed the corkscrew in different direction compared to the Asian paradise one. From what I can gather, the ride at Asian...

What is the best relocated coaster operating today?

From what I've ridden, probably Wild Mouse at Luna Park Sydney. It moved around a fair bit before settling down in its current location in 1995. Wooden Wild Mice are incredibly enjoyable and it's such a shame that there's only 3 left, all of them pretty far from Europe (sadly Aussie World's...

Star City in Manila Burns Down.

Blizzard was already replaced by the SBF Spinner before the fire. Shame about the nicely themed Wacky Worm, but I'm quite surprised that 2 of the other indoor coasters ended up surviving the fire.

Most noteworthy park and coaster you haven’t done in your home country/state

As a big fan of Winter sports, I find it kind of hard to believe that Hafjell is considered 'on the outskirts of nowhere', especially in a country as sparsely populated as Norway is. As for me, here comes a traditional 'uhhh...' when asked about the parks in my country. As of 2020, I've ridden...

Croc Drop style tower to replace Gardaland's Sequoia Adventure (page 3)

The ride has now been removed from the website and the park map, so it could finally be on its way out.

    Milestones in Your Counts

Not a new milestone, but a recent change on coaster-count that linked the two coasters that I've ridden prompted me to look deeper into the three Spanish carnival coasters that I've ridden. So what I initially thought were the same coasters that I've ridden in Tenerife in 2010 and in Barcelona...

    Photos from abandoned theme parks

Lucky Star Park in Cyprus closed in 2019 for renovations which were well underway, but got halted at some point in 2020 or 2021 (presumably due to covid) and the park now sits abandoned. What's interesting is that they seemed to have done some shopping in South Korea from where they got a fairly...

    Best and Worst Coaster Names?

Just a short note on that, Valravn is named after a creature in the Danish folklore. It's not like Cedar Point thought of naming a coaster Wall Raven and editing it to Valravn to make it sound more marketable. I agree with you on Velocicoaster, though. It sounds like a project name that...

    Best Theme Park in Germany

Objectively speaking, Phantasialand has a fantastic ride line-up and the themeing of various areas is second to none when it comes to the parks visited. But having last visited both parks on the same trip in 2016, I found myself enjoying Europa Park much more, spending the entire 9 hours...

    Luna Park Sydney 2022/01/17

Nice report! The park does look better now compared to how it was 4,5 years ago and the new area with the two family coasters looks much nicer than the sad fairground-ish mess that was there before. Good to see that, considering the park is in a pretty nice location just next to the harbour bridge.
