Universal's Epic Universe | Orlando USA | Theme Park

I imagine these prices will go down in time. I’d think that this is currently Universal trying to manage what will inevitably be high demand for their brand new park in its opening year.

Chessington World of Adventures holding public consultation regarding “current proposals and new developments” - potential new attraction?

I think Super Nintendo World is quite a tall order given that the budget for Super Nintendo World was probably 10 times what Merlin can realistically afford. Hopefully Mojang will hold Merlin to a high standard (with how popular Minecraft is, I think they can afford to be picky), but I think...

Chessington World of Adventures holding public consultation regarding “current proposals and new developments” - potential new attraction?

The strongest piece of evidence is a market research study that was unearthed earlier in the year, where Merlin were testing the waters for Minecraft lands at Alton Towers and Chessington. Perhaps this is the results of that market research study materialising? People have also pointed to...

Congratulations @Flash Shift! That sounds like good redemption for your last trip to Flamingo Land, if nothing else!

Six Flags Over Georgia | Georgia Surfer | Intamin Ultra Surf | 2025

Ah, that's interesting! So it's more like the fake splash effect on, say, Shambhala? If that's the case, I imagine you might get a little bit of mist depending on seat, but not properly wet in the sense you would on a water ride.

Six Flags Over Georgia | Georgia Surfer | Intamin Ultra Surf | 2025

Out of interest, is this like Intamin's take on a Mack PowerSplash? Or does it not actually get you wet?

Chessington World of Adventures holding public consultation regarding “current proposals and new developments” - potential new attraction?

Personally, I imagine it will probably be an undercover flat of some description rather than a dark ride. A Gameplay Theatre is possible, I guess, as I can’t imagine they take up a huge footprint, but I’m not sure how likely an Intamin Dynamic Motion Stage is, personally. I imagine Danse...

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

From my (admittedly limited) experience, I’ve noticed that using the single rider queue often sees you batched towards the back rather than the front, for what it’s worth. Both times I used the SRQ, I was batched on the very back row, and it seemed as though most people were being put towards...

Smartphone or tablet; which mobile device type do you prefer?

Hi guys. In recent years, smart mobile devices have taken over our world, with phones and tablets becoming hugely more prolific in the last 10-15 years since the dawn of the iPhone, iPad and similar Android equivalents like the Samsung Galaxy family of devices. These devices are hugely common...

Universal's Epic Universe | Orlando USA | Theme Park

I must admit, it really is unbelievable to think that this is opening next year! It feels like we’ve known about it and seen it being built for ages!

    Fantasiana | Helios | Mack Stryker Coaster | 2025

I think not running in the rain is a surprisingly common issue on coasters with drive tyre lift hills. Even Thirteen at Alton Towers, an Intamin coaster, has had issues with this.

    Whats your favorite Intamin

My favourite Intamin is definitely VelociCoaster at Islands of Adventure. It just has so many wonderful qualities; the airtime is wonderful, the speed is insane, and there are so many great elements that it’s hard to pick a favourite! The whole sequence from the drop into the second launch...

    Hossoland | Poland | Theme Park | 2025

Similarly to everyone else, I do question how they’re going to open the park next year with no rides in situ. Even after rides are built, there’s a lot more left to do. Even with a Zadra build speed, I think May 2025 will be a push!

    Milestones in Your Counts

Congratulations @James F! I’m not sure whether to count 50s myself. I counted 50, but I’m unsure whether to count 150 as a milestone or not whenever I eventually hit it…

What has been your most successful year as an enthusiast?

Following the update of another of my threads earlier in the day, about “most times you’ve ridden a specific attraction in one day”, I thought it might be fun to update this thread! Since I last posted in here, I scrapped my “enthusiasm start date” and explored my exhaustive theme park visiting...

Most rides you've ever had on one attraction in a day?

Since I last posted in here, my previous daily record of 6 on Silver Star is no longer even in the top 3! My top 3 now is: Gold Rush at Drayton Manor - 14 rides - 5th September 2024 Stealth at Thorpe Park - 10 rides - 15th September 2023 Apocalypse at Drayton Manor - 7 rides - 9th June 2022...

Has a coaster ever had to be rebuilt because of a hurricane?

The only park that I know of to ever close or be severely, irreparably damaged as a result of a hurricane was Six Flags New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, and that was a unique situation because the park’s drainage systems also failed during the storm. Hurricane Katrina was also massive on...

    New attractions at Paultons Park

Cyclonator has a 1.2m height restriction, so I don’t think it’s something Paultons are necessarily averse to. In my view, such a coaster would be a good way to make the park more of an all-round family park for every age group rather than the young family park it arguably is at the moment...

    New attractions at Paultons Park

As much as people are rubbishing an Intamin Hot Racer, I actually think it seems like the sort of thing that could be right up Paultons’ street myself. It would be low to the ground and fairly intermediate in terms of thrill level, but it would also be a definite step up from anything they...
