Any mention of an opening date? I tried to look at the linked article but it's behind a paywall. Hoping it might be open for early October when I visit.
Good idea for a topic! Most likely top 10 candidates from the parks I intend to visit this year:
The Ride to Happiness
Expedition GeForce
Voltron (maybe? I haven't really kept tabs on what it is)
Silver Star (probably not as it's usually considered a lower-tier B&M Hyper than some I've already...
Another year done, 53 new creds so let's see how that affected my Top ten. My overall top ten is all Steel coasters so I'll do a separate one for the woodies. New creds from this year in bold.
Top 10
Steel Vengeance
Taron (I actually count this as joint first with SV because the rides are so...
I've recently done my final park trip of the year, capping off a season that started on 7th January at Phantasialand and ended at Hyde Park on 9th December, easily making it the longest season of coaster riding I've ever had! :)
Coaster count at start of 2023: 354
Coaster count at end of 2023...
Would not recommend. If you think the operating practices at PdA are bad, they're nothing on PW based on recent experience. They didn't open half their rides on a pleasant 18 degrees day and even when they did, they couldn't keep them running consistently :(
WTF? It's not even the best coaster in the park. Not even third best!
The theme is absolutely brilliant. The ride is okay for the first few goes until you realise it's an uncomfortable, headbanging, rattly pile of crap. It also has an offensively long queue all the time due to the GP thinking...
So that 1000+ cred count doesn't consist of any +1's? 🤔
Firmly Category B for me now, but I was probably Category A for the first couple of hundred creds in my count when the idea of riding any coaster was exciting. These days I might make the effort if there's a bunch of new creds, +1 or...
I feel like there might be two versions of this thread as I'm sure I would have updated when I completed the full alphabet, which was years ago now. Anyway, here's my current list:
A - Anubis (Plopsaland De Panne)
B - Black Mamba (Phantasialand)
C - Cheetah Hunt (Busch Gardens)
D - Diamondback...
Sorry to hear you didn't really enjoy Diamondback or The Beast. Both were awesome when I visited at roughly the same time last year and easily the standouts in the park for me. I do agree that KI is missing an elite-level coaster, but I still loved the park as a whole.
^ Well not really, because they wouldn't be the same layout 🤷♂️
On the subject of wooden coasters though, I'll suggest Heidi: The Ride (Plopsaland) and White Lightning (Funspot Orlando). Essentially the same layout but Heidi was smooth and reridable with some nice theming in a lovely park...
