I plan to film a music video on a rollercoaster!

Not just a maybe. The park needs to be onboard for things like this. Trying to film otherwise could get you into heaps of trouble. Parks tend to be accommodating if asked politely and professionally well in advance, however. You might have to show up really early in the morning to film before...

Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

It could also be that the project has made it all the way to the "let's get some equipment and workers on site to show investors there is ongoing activity, perhaps a few more will take the bait before we hightail it to Bahamas with most of the money" stage. That wouldn't be unheard of either.

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

How tall is that tower? Has to be more than fifty meters or so. That's 15 storeys. Now there's the question: who would want to climb 15 storeys of stairs in the heat of Qatar and the 100% humidity of a waterpark? It's gotta be like doing the step test in a sauna. You'd be half-dead of heat...

    Alternate versions of theme parks

Ooh, that's a fun way to do this topic: *clicks* Dang. Uhh ... 1916: Instead of being torn down, the Scenic Railway somehow attracts more customers and Brandywine Springs keeps seeing business for years to come. 1921: The park builds its third rollercoaster. It's a small wooden thing like...

    TusenFryd | Storm | Gerstlauer Invert | 2023

I'm leaning more towards the municipality demanding a less visually striking colour scheme that blended better into the sky. The coaster is quite close to a residential area, after all. Speed Monster was also conceived as yellow at some point, but changed to blue quite late in development.

    El Toro incident 25 August

I remember starting a discussion about this a couple years back. We concluded that while there was indeed a Hulk clone planned for Dubai, there's no evidence that any of its track was ever manufactured. The reason Hulk was replaced was probably the fact that it had operated year-round in a harsh...

Walt Disney Studios Park further developments

Ahh, my bad, shouldn't have skimmed through Wikipedia that long after midnight. As for Philharmagic ... it's a stage show, and as far as I can tell it takes place in a building that was already a theatre. I wouldn't consider it a new attraction.

Six Flags Over Texas | Original Mr. Freeze is back

This is a LIM launch coaster, isn't it? Could it be maintenance or running costs have finally outpaced its guest draw?

    El Toro incident 25 August

Between Kingda Ka and Nitro, SFGAdv would still have a couple of big headliner coasters even if El Toro was removed. But still, El Toro is one of the park's defining coasters, easily overshadowing every single coaster they have built in the years since. Heck, I don't think the chain has built...

    Lightwater Valley - Future?

I hope I found the right thread. Don't think we had one specifically for the Ultimate.

    El Toro incident 25 August

I've been wondering a lot about that myself. All those coasters built in the early 2000s - in particular, the boom between 1998 and 2006 - are starting to show their age, and some come with pretty big maintenance obligations these days. Just their upkeep - retaining the lineup they currently...

Walt Disney Studios Park further developments

The whole resort is in such a strange position. The Studios park was so bare-bones upon opening that it basically has taken two decades of gradual investments to turn it into a full-fledged park, and in the meantime, the main park still hasn't received any new attractions since *checks* ... Buzz...

Universal's Epic Universe | Orlando USA | Theme Park

Are we even sure that's coaster track, and not part of some other girder arch structure? We've had many, many of these "coaster track spotted on the highway!" threads over the years, and most of the time, it has turned out to be some unrelated support structure for stadium lights or something...

Wouldn't you know, it happened as advertised and now the thread has been stickied two months too long: https://soakymountainwaterpark.com/attractions/the-edge-watercoaster/ Out goes the pin, then.

    Hotgo Park | Unknown | B&M Wing Coaster & B&M Hyper Coaster | :-(

That being said, I just realized an unsticky might not be a bad idea. It's not like there have been any indications that the construction will go anywhere. I think we can pull the pin out of this one for now.

Bollywood Parks Dubai? | unknown | Mack Hyper Coaster| ??

In an effort to clean up the Ride Construction subforum a bit, I've decided to move this thread back to News & Rumours. No actual construction of this coaster has been confirmed or even inferred, so while it just remains in storage, I think it would be wrong for it to have a sticky thread in the...

CWOA | Mandrill Mayhem (World of Jumanji) | B&M Wing Coaster | 2023

Let's put the question differently: with only one train, the ride would be out of operation whenever the train needs maintenance. If so, why bother with a separate maintenance depot? Might as well just use the ride station.
