However, I did get @Ian to ride Hurricane Coaster at Fun Spot Atlanta (+1 for him) on Saturday just for laughs, as it might be the worst coaster in the world currently operating. We skipped the kiddie cred, of course.
Where's the conversation about who will do the refurb of the El Toro section and whether that part will be a hyper or not? I would like to see RMC's 208 ReTraK, so hyper IMO.

I spoke with Har Kupers earlier this year about Vekoma's North American comeback with their new lineup of coaster models and he said that I haven't seen anything yet. He said all the current installations and announcements are just a drop in the bucket compared to what's coming.
I got the invitation to the media event and grand opening last week, but they asked not to let the cat out of the bag until after the park made the official announcement. Then I forgot to post the info. :rolleyes:

It's not really a Six Flags monopoly. With Six Flags trying to get Cedar Fair to purchase their parks for years (if not decades) and since the new headquarters will be near Carowinds with "significant finance and administrative operations in Sandusky, Ohio", I assume Cedar Fair will be running...
Hopefully good news as far as Carowinds is concerned. If any Cedar Fair park needs help, it's Carowinds. Having the new company headquarters nearby could go a long way to the park actually living up to its potential. It definitely can't remain the drab experience it's been for decades.
