It is a faithful remaster. I was able to ride it on Saturday and the dark ride portion or most of the ride, held true to its roots but did so with some significantly improved tech. If there is a downside, and it is minor or less than minor knowing what the ride is designed to be, it is that...
Great Topic!
You may notice a couple of trends...
Renegade - GCI - Valleyfair - It was a relatively cool morning and I was on possibly the first train of the day and it was a pretty empty train. Afternoon rides were significantly better as the trains were full and it got much warmer...
I wonder if that was the same night I got my one night ride on Beast. 10 July 2023? It was funny because the ride was supposed to start up again once the firework and drone show finished but I think it ran into some technical issues that delayed it almost another 30 minutes but they still...
I had to chuckle that the GCI credits that you and I have in common are in the same order and your 4th and my 5th which appears to be the cutoff point between great and less than great are both there due to roughness. Probably not that uncommon, but I digress.
This is well put! They are really good rides but nothing that just wows one. The "full-sized" ones that I have been on are all great. The top 5 are essentially interchangeable:
1. Prowler (9/10) - Great out & back layout in the woodsy setting. Also, one of the best night rides in the...
As it has now been a full week, I am updating my top 10 from my Florida trip last week and we have some movement. Bold coasters are new credits since the last list:
1. Iron Gwazi, Busch Gardens Tampa - I had high expectations for this but I was still blown away. Its first drop, pacing, whip...
I'm cheating as I have already gotten several new credits in 2024 that have likely reached into my top 10 or top 25 including Iron Gwazi, VelociCoaster, Mako and Montu. Updated coaster rankings forthcoming once time has pass to limit recency bias.
I tentatively have a trip planned to the...
The joys of becoming a coaster enthusiast with adult money, ample PTO built up from the COVID years and limited expenses. While I do not expect to triple or even double my count in 2024, I would be surprised if I do not get to 250... Though 300 or doubling isn't totally out of the realm of...
Coaster count at start of 2023: 51
Coaster count at end of 2023: 158
Coaster count increase: 107
Favorite new-to-me coaster of 2023: Fury 325 beating out ArieForce One by a hair. I think aside from the front row, it would be AFO but given I rank coasters based on where the best ride experience...
1. Steel Vengeance - What can be said that hasn't been said about it. My number 1 and it isn't particularly close. 11/10
-gap-
2. ArieForce One - Arguably the best quality per length RMC I've been on but doesn't have the length of SteVe. 10/10
3. Outlaw Run - Such a great setting and...
Three answers:
Want to ride the most but it isn't going to happen: Hyperia - some of those elements just look insane.
New coaster that I will almost certainly ride: Flash Vertical Velocity - I want to give a new age Vekoma thrill coaster a ride.
New coaster that I might ride: Hot Wheels...
Whelp, 49 new credits later as I skipped Frontier City and only rode 5 new coasters at Dollywood along with a couple other closures, here is my updated top 10 or top 6.4% of my 157 credits:
1. Steel Vengeance, Cedar Point - Long live the king!
2. Fury 325, Carowinds - I tried to crack the...
Well I crossed 3 of my top 10 to do off my list this past weekend in Fury 325, ArieForce One and Lightning Rod this weekend. Updated top 10 to follow once I've had a week to let those settle to try to reduce recency bias. But I still can do my new top 10 to do list:
1. Skyrush - As it is...
In no particular order (kinda grouped geographically)
Patriot - World's of Fun
Wildfire - Silver Dollar City
Batman - Six Flags St. Louis
Great White - SeaWorld San Antonio
Dr. Diabolical Cliffhanger - Six Flags Fiesta Texas
Superman - Six Flags Fiesta Texas
Goliath - Six Flags Fiesta Texas...
1. Steel Vengeance
2. Voyage
Steel Vengeance is just so stupidly long with so many elements and every element hits. And honestly for me, there is a pretty big gap between Steel Vengeance and the Voyage whereas there is basically no gap between Voyage, Maverick, Outlaw Run and Iron Rattler.
Oh why not, I'll do one now and then compare in ~1.5 months when I should have ~60 more credits between trips to Sea World San Antonio, Fiesta Texas, Over Texas and possibly Frontier City over Labor Day weekend and then the first weekend of October will be Carowinds, Six Flags Over Georgia, Fun...
