We're just in the middle of our third day here and it's chucking it down with rain so we've headed back to the hotel for some respite. As I said before, we're staying at the Park Front hotel which is literally a 2 min walk from the entrance, so it's been convenient to come and go, although if...
Yesterday we went into the Nintendo World and you could see the entrance to DK was clearly hidden with a temporary wall and a few pot plants. I feel like they could soft open it at any time.
Also some sight lines from the park are great:
Just staying in a hotel overlooking USJ and I can see the ride testing right now (the park has just closed). They're sending cart after cart around.
I understand it's a bit of a meme but it looks slow. After Mario Kart I'm worried they might have made this *too* tame
This has got me worried! We're heading to USJ for the first time from Saturday for a few days (spending time in Osaka but we have a hotel next to USJ and are getting an annual pass so we can go in each morning and get bits done). Thankfully Flying Dinosaur opens from the 23rd so we should be...
I was talking to some year 12 students I was teaching yesterday who are going on a schoool trip to Thorpe Park in July, they'd never heard of Hyperia and had no idea Thorpe Park had a new coaster. If they are marketing to that audience, I don't think it's working
When Hagrid was still new at Universal they had a queue literally going from the entrance to the park. You'd head through the turnstiles, then get shepherded towards the queue going to the right through Seuss landing if you wanted to do that, or left to the marvel area if you didn't.
Worked...
We head one years ago, but we went to Thorpe in 2022 and AT in 2019 and were so disappointed we haven't wanted to go back yet.
Both are about 3 hour drives for us each way, and the combination of a lack of new rides, terrible food and the general run down appearance of the parks have put us...
I really liked Formula Rossa after hearing so many negative things about the layout. The second half of the coaster was much more fun than I expected.
I think it's way too early to tell how fun any part of this will be, there's just nothing else like it.
I don't think we'll get many 'British' brands, maybe some roaming characters and Harry Potter.
I really think a lot of what we'll get will be copies of the other parks, perhaps with a different ride system, like they've done in the parks in Japan, SIngapore and China.
Things like Jurassic...
Confirmed for 26th April.
We just cancelled our trip, but can't get a refund on the flights so we'll go visit Tripsdrill and Holiday Park instead and come back for Europa in the Autumn.
Yeah I really like these trains, can't wait to get on this ride!
When do people think the park could open? Getting a booking in the big park hotel will probably be a nightmare!
I always thought it might be to do with how they pay/train their staff too. Europa, like the Disney Parks, often have a lot of older staff who look like really know what they're doing, rather than the seasonal teenage staff you get at a lot of UK parks.
Also the better parks seem willing to run...
That's so dark.
I'm thinking a Kong-style bus ride around the shire, like we're on Gandalf's cart.
Some hobbits wave at us, then there's some fireworks and it's over.
