Damn, that looks surprisingly less exciting than I was hoping for. The two sections immediately after the tall side-banked elements look decently fun, but the rest just looks ok. Except that indoor direction change. Holy 💩 that is frustratingly slow, that should not take 40+ seconds. Don't see...
Highly doubt it would need reprofiling. This video isn't your usual "enthusiast" speculation, I think it's very informational & on the money:
His seemingly informed opinion is that the diagonal beam's footer had sunk into the ground, overstressing the diagonal column and gradually leading to...
Luckily, that's not how this works. There's zero perfectly straight track on the layout (which is needed for a B&M magnetic trim) until you reach the actual trim. I believe the most they could do is change out the wheels to a different, higher friction material to slow it down, if needed. But...
Someone visiting the park recently said they spoke to one of the painters for the project. The painter told this someone that it will be all white track & grey supports for the low sections, and alternating red/white track and grey supports for the tower.
I would assume people involved are told...
I find the modern Intamin trains way more open than the Mack ones. The Mack ones have a much bulkier lap bar & more upper body bolstering in the seat, so you feel more contained in those. Excluding the spinners, the lap bars are also very top-heavy, so in a moment of strong positives, the...
Great! Now let's fix these amateur ass, hack-job transition joints:
and a slow-mo video for further enjoyment:
How does an engineer sign off on this 💩 ?????? How do you let this operate in this state with public riders?? Mind blowing stuff here.
One of my favorite finds in recent memory:
This appears to be a 1987/88 pitch to Dollywood for a new coaster. The options here were either:
A) relocate one of the sides of Six Flags St Louis' River King Mine Train (the black pins), or
B) Installing a terrain, custom looping coaster with a...
Not really. It's lined up directly behind & inline with the launch track, perfect for a spike but too far offset to be another top hat.
I do think that keyring may be a large teaser at what's coming. Could be a hint of the name, possibly Polaris; as it basically resembles a P (in both...
I agree with them that backwards would be better than spinning on this one. I think spinning lends itself better to a launched ride like Icon & Steel Taipan where the force of the launch + the weight distribution starts the spinning. Having done Ride to Happiness, my absolute favorite laps were...
That is an LSM boost, not a trim. I'm not sure if I was correct in putting it there, but it is my working assumption that it physically needs to have some additional boost between the cliff drop & the Arch Hill to A) Ensure that the train makes it over the Arch at all, B) Makes it over at a...
Photos are Speed The Ride but the stats & description are definitely a Mr. Freeze layout. Weird. Over Texas just refurbed theirs, maybe St. Louis is testing the waters?
Luckily there's no fancy double switch track, drop track, or turntable faff, just a metric o_Oton more LSM stators than usual. I do wonder what kind of black magic wheel compounds this thing is gonna run to prevent literally melting each cycle, though.

All renderings of the train were 2x2 seating, but I believe that the train in post is much closer to/is the actual design.
I don't think top 3 in NA (specifically the #3 spot) is a stretch. I feel like SV & Gwazi are the unanimous top 2, then that 3rd comes down to this, ArieForce, & Lightning Rod.
This thing looks REAL good. Can't wait to see proper POVs!
