To me my favourite themed area in all of Florida is Diagon Alley - which of course is in USO, but the park in itself is weak.
Same with Pandora - which I think is one of the best themed lands at any Disney park globally, and I don't mean the rides - I enjoyed them but they arent the best...
Oh God, as a card carrying homosexual, their's nothing I'd want LEAST!
However a Cred painted rainbow colours would be FAB but not specifically pride themed.... just bright and joyful and people can interpret what they like into it pride/peace/NHS...whatever....lol, imagine woodie with the...
Some very general integrated messaging like 'the world is a beautiful place - take care of it' is fab.
But what i've noticed elsewhere in the entertainment world is everything has a message now, and a lot of it feels forced and insincere - where is the pure escapism? I'm in a minority group...
I'd argue that all those rides are still 'main attractions' - because 'main attraction' doesn't mean it has to be a coaster! Therefore Phantasialand is 'Main ride' heavy ....which is why its one of the best theme parks in the world...
It was Troy, Wodan, Joris but Troy has got a little rough the last couple of years and now Wodan has pushed through, and i find it more re-rideable (Troy gives me head-rumble) so now its...
Wodan
Troy
Joris
And i love Joris - they are all in quick succession really!
Generally hold on the first time I ever ride something - to suss it out, as I've jarred my back or bashed myself before whilst being over zealous and getting caught out by unexacting transitions.
On smooth airtime machines such as Shambala and Silver star I'll have hands in the air the whole...
Screens in my opinion can be a great tool in special effects, but are always best when supporting practical sets, props and other RT effects!
One huge bugbear is when screens edges arent hidden or integrated into the environment - especially in naturalistic environments like caves.... it...
I always thought Spookslot would have benefitted from being a ride..... stick a doombuggie style conveyance system through it.
I hope they replace it with something spooky - a 'traditional' ghost house ride would be wonderful for Efteling and Europe, as no large scale ghost train has opened...
Choosing between Europa and Phantasia for me is like picking a favourite Child..... they are equal for different reasons but I have to always go with Europa because of it's scope beyond rides and the emotional heart I get from the place!
The theming of Phantasialand is second only to Tokyo...
Geisterschloss: Opened in 1982 (my birth years), It's vintage-spooky, it's clunky, it's random, it's classic, it's an assault on your eyes, with things going on all over the place, It's ADHD personified!
Winja's force/fear: It's cheeky, it's mischievous, its a little hows-your-father...
Definitely the new Piraten en Batavia..... now one of the best Dark rides in Europe outside actual Disneyland Paris.
Also a soft spot for Geisterschloss..... due to being old enough to remember Wicked witched haunt at Thorpe park!
oh and props too Colorado Adventure too.
looks fun... although I hate those 'cut in half' aesthetic wheels...... I hope it's dark enough inside that its not really noticeable.... but I can't unsee them!
Resurrecting an old thread - only because I came across a couple of pieces of new info on the origins of River Quest!
On one of my deep dives via waybackmachine - came across this animated gif of how the drop element/trapdoor on RiverQuest would have worked - its not what I expected...
Huge stone monster animatronic unveiled for the new dark ride..... great to see real animatronics/practical effects beging used, makes me more excited for this project... Is the creature actually featured in the movie franchise - or a unique creation...
