You know nothing, Sue Snow ;) At night it's a completely different coaster. I don't even like it that much during the day. At night in the rain was insane.
Yeah, I meant that the top coasters of most types on both continents are a pretty fair match, while the US simply has more of each type (most of which is not as good as the top ones).
I think the US definitely has a lot more quantity of great coasters, but quality-wise there doesn't seem to be much difference. Europe has very few of each type, but it's often one of the best of its kind. Take B&M hypers or inverts for example. The US has a LOT more of them, but Shambhala...
^ You're spot on about Taron! I feel the exact same way. Glad to see another Dragon Khan fan. It's so intense and fab <3 And you're right about the zero G roll on Black Mamba, my personal fave. Full of wonderful floater.
Joris en de Draak was the first one, but back then it was so much of a rush that I didn't really actively notice the airtime.
Then I rode Goliath at Walibi and was blown away by the ejector airtime. The first time going over that first hill is still one of my best memories. Sadly it has lost...
I've visited the old Emmen zoo, which was pretty nice. This is the new updated version so nice to have an extra reason to visit. I'm actually interested in how much the duelling gimmick will affect the ride. But in the worst case, yay, easy +2.
Which coasters currently in your top 10 have been in there for the longest without dropping out?
I'll rank mine from most enduring to most recent:
1. Joris en de Draak - It has been in there since I've ridden 10 coasters and never left <3 Sadly, it's at #10 at the moment so it could drop out...
His vids are a guilty pleasure for me. I seriously can't stand him yet I kinda enjoy watching them. Such a weird moment when he was checking my ticket when I first got into Alton Towers.
I finally rode it yesterday. I really enjoyed it! First ride was in the front seat, and while I quite liked it, I wasn't blown away either. Then I rode it in the back...
It starts off with a small launch forwards. Then a launch backwards which feels similar to the Sky Rocket II models (Sky...
We sort of didn't feel like bothering with Darren Brown. It had a queue and just meh. That's probably the effect that Thorpe was having on me :p I hope it isn't the most amazing ride ever?
To be fair, it's more surprising that I DID love Stealth's launch. All the other Intamin hydraulic launches so far left me pretty much completely indifferent, including Furius Baco's. Shows that it's by far the best of its kind, from what I've done. Rolling launches are my thing <3
Day 6
Thorpe Park then. Thanks to our fabulous nadroJ we got free entry to the park (thank you so much!). Thorpe Park never appealed to me much as a park, more just for the fact that it has a couple of rides that I'm interested in. Queuing outside for like 15 mins to get into the park was a bad...
Like with the trim topic, I'll have to second Chris again. Olympia Looping is an iconic coaster and mighty impressive for a travelling coaster. But that's that. It really isn't anything great. The restraints tighten so much as well...
Twister is a coaster that I loved a lot more than I expected...
