I didn't realise Merlin bought Lightwater Valley... This is a really poor move, no matter the cost. People don't spend their entry fee + an upcharge to ride a roller coaster through VR. How utterly pointless.

Have to admit, I love the bright theme, they've done a fab job. The new boats certainly look a lot safer than the older rapid rides. I wonder if any other parks in the UK will be watching and wondering whether to retrofit and re-theme their rapids...

Jaderpark opened their Hafema log flume the other day, and I have to say it looks gorgeous. On another note, something like that would be absolutely perfect for Paultons, replacing their travelling version!

That's a more likely figure, pretty sure 3.5 million wouldn't even get you a cheap Gerst launched coaster, let alone a B&M!

Agreed, I rode Lost Gravity and although it looks visually enticing, it actually was very painful during the 3 rides I had in various seats. Hopefully they will adapt and improve the seat design, especially if it's launched.

I love Gardaland, but I really think there were other items way up on the 'cull list' that this one. Seems a shame, as when I rode it a few years ago, I actually thought it was decent.

Yes that's a good point, and Ramses Revenge was before it was replaced as well, so they aren't adverse to adding 1.4 restrictions, but they are few and far between. It would be their first new roller coaster in nearly 2 decades, so I would imagine they would want a huge pull on audience numbers...
