Hyped for this and glad it's happening! The woodie was "fun" but far from good. I'll never say no to an RMC Iron Horse.
We'll for sure learn more details about the layout/elements. Those turnarounds are way too simple/unbanked to actually be it. Generally dig the layout here, love to see lots...
Yeah, was there that day. One of the most miserable visits I've had in a park honestly. Was not having fun in that cold rain and high winds.
The park was dead obviously, so I managed about 14 of the creds in a few hours (including the big boys). But someone thought it was a good idea to run...
Sunac Land has been high on my list for the eventual China trip for me, pretty much for Coaster Through the Clouds and Python in Bamboo Forest. CTTC may not seem like the world beater these days, but it's rare that Intamin does "modern" hyper coasters anyhow, so it's kept my attention.
He and his family also did the race and I know a lot of folks that did run didn't spend a ton of time in the park. Don't blame them--I hate running myself, but a post-run hot tub sounds much nicer than following up with a pretty hilly park day.
Crowded parks can suck, but you can still get by...
I originally wasn’t gonna write a report for this since I covered Dollywood pretty well from my first visit, but there’s some new creds, old ones have been updated, and it’s been eight years since I’ve visited.
That’s way longer than I would’ve liked to revisit—especially since it was one of my...
Energylandia tends to just build things man.
I honestly don't recall any of their announcements, but they're not exactly something I pay attention to to or anticipate.
I'd love to see the flying coaster make a comeback.
My money's on a wing coaster. Roughness aside, that would make the most sense with the lineup. Could see them going for a big one.
Really hoping it's not a dive.
But how hilarious would it be if they put in a junior invert?
I'm in the minority but I still think this will be a great ride (though to be fair, anything was going to be better than Kingda Ka... 'twas a horrible ride).
The capacity will be bad (I mean we'll see, moving station platform will help), but sitting in those trains at 100 mph will be...
I've suddenly become a lot more interested traveling more down there as well. Yes, it's generally light on good creds, but the nature/hiking aspect really opened my eyes to lots of potential adventures. The sooner the better, especially with so many people still afraid to visit Latin America...
Oh that's good, this is one of the few creds I'm missing from SFA, so it'll be nice to have that not die on me. That said, I'm sick of Reverchons.
Seems like the park will be a sneaky +3 for me whenever I return, with this one continuing Great Adventure's streak of new low-capacity coasters.
Alright why don’t I try the medium sized images for this one (I’ll try them again in future threads since there’s already a lot previously posted here already).
Part 8 - Flores
After getting dropped back off in Flores, myself and the friends I made on the tour went to an excellent cafe for...
There was a lot to capture on this trip and I enjoy sharing it with others. Perhaps I could've trimmed down more on some (and I have for a couple sections), but it's easier for me to just dump them in and call it a day (the more I write these reports over the years the more I want to streamline...
Part 7 - Tikal Mayan Ruins
Here's another long one.
I had a stupidly short evening flight from Guatemala City to Flores, taking about 40 minutes. There was the option to take a shuttle bus from Antigua, but it would’ve been a ten hour journey and involved a transfer at the airport anyway, so...
Part 6 - Antigua
I had a couple more nights in Antigua after the hike, so I’ll put it all in this part to keep it all together. The two remaining friends who had hiked with me had flights out that evening, so I spent a couple hours with them in Antigua before their Uber back to the airport. We...
Ugh, I might have to make that trip happen later this year. Not that I'm annoyed about it---I still haven't been---but wasn't sure I'd be able to visit this year anyway.
I've waited so long to go and I don't want to be punished with spite.
Ha, I need to do another run through of my Tikal photos before I share them here... I have wayyy too many of the same view and they aren't quite as exciting as this.
Even during these excursions, I tried to remind myself to cool it with the camera and just enjoy my precious time. Probably why...
Part 5 - Acatenango Volcano Hike
Your fingers will probably get tired from scrolling, but trust me, this is cool.
One of the primary motives of this trip (and for many others visiting Guatemala) was the chance to do one of the most accessible active volcano hikes in the world. There’s actually...
