The weight distribution is what makes it spin. Kind of the whole point of a free-spinning car. I believe the Center of Gravity on each car itself is slightly off center so it will spin regardless, but the weight of the riders will be the main weight factor.
Not to mention the top of the tower...
We have anchor bolts, finally...
and for the first time, Energylandia is building.... A B&M!!
For comparison, here's anchor bolts from Rapterra:)
Impossible to tell the ride model at this stage, but based on the size/bolt count of the far footer in the 2nd picture, that should be a pretty...
Pinch me, is it 2018 again?! Lol. Love to see some new earthwork!
I did some digging in old threads to see if I could make anything out with the new footers. At this stage of construction, I don't think I see any 'tells' yet as to what manufacturer this'll be... may just have to wait for the...
It's just kinda sad at this point. Their ENTIRE Youtube channel over 7 years is just for the Spike (39/40 videos, insane). Just throw in the towel please. Can they not develop a new family coaster concept or something?!
It also doesn't help that the ride is also truly terrible. I just did my...
After seeing many, many reviews and POVs over the last month or so since the park opened, I had been slowly piecing together the framework of a rather massive trip... and at the end of January I decided to full send it- Six Flags Qiddiya and the UAE- on less than 2 week's notice. Flights were...
@CaliAngel Actual, direct "confirmation", no.
Has it been heavily rumored & hinted at by people with proven past 'insider' connections, yes.
Is the arrangement of footers nearly* identical to that exact layout, yes.
Has the park received shipments of supports from Mack Rides, yes.
So no...
Whether intentional or accidental, the fire looks isolated to the chain trough. It was more than likely just the chain oil catching fire. Might slow them down a day but this seems like a non-issue, it'll be gone in a week anyway.
How fitting for HRRR to get one final overblown news story 🤣
Not Skyrush in the slightest, it just looks like a custom family launch coaster/Wild Moose to go along with the Hyper pitch.
I've been looking around, I can't pinpoint what that build area is, but I don't see Hershey here. Looks like it runs alongside a lake with a really sharp 90* angled shore...
It's crazy! That piece is the split between the track and the extended 'Giga spine' (just like the other Gigas), but the TWO different angled connections on the backside of it are really interesting. All I know is that drop is gonna be pretty wild, in both scale and structure.
The initial concept art on page 1 of the thread showed a backward spike, likely from an early iteration of the ride. Obviously it's changed since those renders were made.
The floors on the side of the train simply pivot downward, in under 1 second. It's the sliding floor & swinging gate in front of the train that's the problem, it's 7-8 seconds from the time the floors start moving until the train moves.
Anyway- this thing looks incredible. Pacing looks...
Yep, there's quite a few as it rises up into the big hill.
Nope, as far as I can tell, there are none on the downhill side of the big hill, and the rest of the layout is free-coasting off a 500+ft drop (until the hill that travels over the park entrance path, at the very end of the ride).
I...
Yes, it has trims over the cliff drop (to create that (literal) cliffhanger effect), then it launches downhill to hit 155mph and claim the speed record, then it immediately needs to trim off some of that speed. Same idea as Formula Rossa, it doesn't NEED to go that fast.
Anyway, I wouldn't be...
Yep, that's shown at the 2:11 mark here:
https://youtu.be/mKI7uwRpbpQ?si=j3RQyaDW0UYN9jn7&t=131
Then jump to 1:20 for the full up-and-over. Nothing short of insane.
IF this layout is the layout of the alleged standup (/"surf") coaster, I think you may have nailed it here🤣 Seems like a simple layout that has a few Jinma traits, I could absolutely seeing this be that:
Purely a guess: I would imagine something important (ex. something on the trains) was recalled and an immediate shutdown of all installs of that "Seaworld-style" train was issued. Hagrid/Zokkon use completely different trains, so it tracks that those remain unaffected.
I believe something...
Wasn't really an option in this case, as the ride was already fabricated in this configuration. I'm sure they could have ordered a custom layout if they really wanted it, but that would have probably forced the project years down the line due to Vekoma's (allegedly notorious multi-year long)...
Yeah, that coaster lineup is a pretty disappointing. It's not that even an issue IMO that they're all stock models. That alleged Ghostrider would be ideal, but even something even half that thrilling should have been built here.
