I suppose the reason is simple: Money. A tire launch is significantly cheaper than an LSM. I don’t know the exact pricing but I got told that one Intamin LSM module is about as expensive as a car.
Additionally, the seating position is closer to the track, which means that there is less room for...
If it wasn't for KdKs removal, this would be a somewhat lackluster addition for me, given it has only 2 elements, but somewhat fitting to the park. But with it replacing KdK I just can't get myself to look forward to it.
I don't expect it to be a bad ride, the elements should be fun and the...
I wonder how many people will love this ride all of the sudden, now as the closure is announced.
Good move that they still intend to keep the towers, they are certainly iconic.
The overbank could also count as one, the banking seems to be quite strong and is held for some time. Usually, this isn't done, but you know how theme parks can be.
Wasn't it mentioned a few months ago that Merlin might be bancrupt by the end of the year if they keep burning money?
The whole company surely has some issues. I feel like their expansion drive is whats hurting them the most. It isn't bad to expand, but with the speed they've been doing it, is...
Haven't done all of them, but I'd go with Voltron. It has just the ride mix of hangtime and duration. Zadras is fun, but it doesn't have hangtime at all.
I think Arie Force feels so intense due to the combination. You enter with ~1.5g of airtime and just as this ends you get hit bei 1.8g of deceleration.
Zadra on the other hand decelerates with a solid 2gs.
I feel like Maurer spinning coasters deserve an honourable mention as well. They are as sudden as they are intense. They even stop their drive tires with some serious force.
Really? Broms does certainly has some power to it, but I don't think its comparable to the likes of Zadra, AF1 or whatever that thing from the video is. Where I lucky during my visits and had "old" brakes?
I didn't find the Bats at Plopsaland too bad. But I may or may not have been slightly inebriated when riding it. Shockwave was definitely not too bad compared to some others.
@TilenB HOLY MOTHER OF GOD
I was just talking about brakes with some friends and had the theory that one reason that Zadras brakes were so gentle is due to the issues with Vengeance and its braking system.
Well, I then thought about some rides with insane brakes, and would like to know your candidates.
3: Zadra
This...
They don‘t have an issue with high capacity rides, they just don‘t like to operate the rides at capacities over 300pph. But in theory, they *could* do more.
Should've gotten a B&M.
Glad they are finding solutions for the extensive wear. The E-Stop problem should be a rather simple one compared to that. Fingers crossed that they might actually be opening this year.
