Rank the 9 roller coasters at Walt Disney World

    1. Cosmic Rewind. Easy winner. Tons of fun. 2. Tron. Very flashy, but surprisingly short. 3. Expedition Everest. Good. 4. Rock n Rollercoaster. Getting rough nowadays. 5. Big Thunder Mountain. S'alright. 6. Space Mountain. Not a fan. Janky and horribly outdated. 7. Barnstormer. +1. 8. Slinky...

Project Exodus at Thorpe Park; Current Layout (Mack) or Alternative Layout (Likely B&M)?

Good point, I'd forgotten about this. Assuming the park goes ahead, Universal could certainly build a B&M hyper. Hell, Universal would probably have the money and the means to build a full on, Fury 325-busting, giga-coaster! Imagine that! 😲 Maybe that's what that +300ft height waiver mentioned...

    New attractions at Paultons Park

Good answer, thanks man, that clears a lot of things up. I hadn't even realised that Splash Lagoon and Raging River were two separate rides, I thought that they'd just revamped Raging River. 🤦‍♂️

    New attractions at Paultons Park

So much going on in this thread - dark rides, water rides, coasters - could somebody summarise what is and what isn't actually happening at Paulton's cos I really haven't been keeping up. Ghostly Manor 2025, yes? Coaster 2026, or is this still just a rumour? And the water ride - just a revamp...

Project Exodus at Thorpe Park; Current Layout (Mack) or Alternative Layout (Likely B&M)?

I was a big advocate of the B&M hyper, would love to see one in the UK and realistically I think this was our only chance of ever getting one, so was a bit gutted when this Mack layout was announced. However, I think I've changed my mind, I think Thorpe were right to go for something more...

    Rank the Intamin Launch Coasters

Alrighty then, let's see who I can trigger with this post. 1. Kingda Ka. There, I said it. Don't care. And no, it's not just because it's going, it's because I genuinely loved it. One of the scariest and most thrilling rides I've ever been on. Just the sheer adrenaline rush of being launched...

Walibi Belgium in talks to RMC Loup-Garou (report)

Great news, but not in the least bit surprising. Pretty much the only logical choice for Walibi Belgium's next thrill coaster. I mean, we all said it didn't we? Pretty much every trip report from the last 3 years, including mine, said exactly the same thing: 'Aw man, if they RMC'd Loup Garou...

    Rank your Ridden B&M Inverts

Wait til you see my next post. Gonna do the Intamin launchers next. 😉

    Rank your Ridden B&M Inverts

This is getting quite tricky now, over the last 30 years I've been on 23 of these bloomin' things, by far my most ridden coaster model. Some of them I've only ridden once, some of them I rode over 20 years ago, so putting them all into some sort of order is quite the task, but I'll give it a...

    Your 2024 in Review

Yes! Totally on board with this statement: And this: I hear you on this one too. Under rated park. However... Spited. 😭 Well, not spited exactly, but when you're doing Knoebels later on the same day and Demon Drop doesn't open til 2pm, you're kinda stuffed. 🤷‍♂️ Excellent year, Serena...

Thoughts on Hyde Park Winter Wonderland?

At the risk of sounding like a typical tight-arsed northerner, which I totally am by the way, it's just too expensive innit. I mean, if you actually wanna do stuff, or buy stuff, or eat stuff while you're there, it's gonna cost you a small fortune. Could get a day trip to Plopsaland for less...

What have you learned in your years as an enthusiast?

Putting your arms up on a rollercoaster very probably slows it down. Think about it, if things like temperature, moisture, time of day, wind direction, weight of riders etc... can all significantly affect the speed and pace of a ride, and we know they do, imagine the extra drag factor of 24...

    Your 2024 in Review

A pretty quiet year for me in some ways, but in other ways... omg, best season ever! Didn't go on that many theme park trips, instead focused my efforts on one big one and got myself a bumper haul of choice US creds. Highest ever annual cred haul of 81, beating out 2018 by one credit, so boom...

    Top 10(ish): 2024 Edition - page 124

Oh my Goddddd, this is so hard now. How some of you can somehow rank all of your ridden coasters with pinpoint accuracy is beyond me. For the longest time I've been a big advocate of the Top 10% method - whatever your cred count is, you just take the assumption that at any given time, the...

Icon or Hyperia; which of the UK’s Mack thrill coasters do you prefer?

Yay, I can answer this poll now. It's Hyperia innit, as if there was ever any doubt. The poll result speaks for itself - 36 to 1! 🤣 I'd call that a fairly emphatic win for Hyperia.

What has been your most successful year as an enthusiast?

This year... by one credit. 😁 I got 80 new coasters in 2018 but thanks to Hyperia earlier this week my total for this year is now 81, so boom to that! Not surprisingly, 2018 and 2024 featured big US road trips, which is always a good boost for the cred count.

    Last Cred Review

Hyperia. S'alright. Needs to be a bit longer. Joking aside, it's actually a lot better than 'alright'... but it definitely does need to be a bit longer. Had 3 rides on it yesterday, first was in the middle somewhere, second managed to swing a front row ride via the single rider line - result! -...

Has a coaster ever had to be rebuilt because of a hurricane?

Zadra was virtually flattened by high winds during construction and they had it rebuilt pretty quickly. In fact, I think it still actually opened ahead of schedule.

    Plopsaland Live - Early 2025

I voted for the January date. Have done that exact trip for the last 2 years in a row now and it's been fab. In the post Christmas comedown, having a trip that early on is a great way to fend off those back-to-work, January blues.
