I don't care what anyone says, this park looks absolutely stunning. One of the best locations for a park ever, phenomenal theming, what appears to be a pretty strong flat and dark ride collection, and a couple fun looking credits too!
Here's my top ten for this category. Most of them are still very good, just don't come close to meeting the massive hype
Steel Vengeance
El Toro
Twisted Colossus
Outlaw Run
Mega Lite (HVS)
Balder
Top Thrill Dragster
Orion
Millennium Force
Great Bear
Here's an update to my list after a small mid-Atlantic trip and a west coast trip. New credits in bold.
Voyage
Python in Bamboo Forest
Hades 360
Helix
Dinoconda
Boulder Dash
Cyclone
8. X2 - I knew I'd love X2 just based upon my Dinoconda rides. Still it blew me away with the...
After a couple trips to some local-ish parks in Maine and New York my list has seen some decent movement.
1. Voyage
2. Python in Bamboo Forest
3. Hades 360
4. Helix
5. Dinoconda
6. Boulder Dash
7. Cyclone (Coney Island) - I was so excited to finally ride this ultra-classic golden age wooden...
Why do you say "Chinese knockoff". Why sound so condescending? If you've actually seen theming at Chinese amusement parks you'd realize that it's better than just about anywhere else on Earth. From what I've been to China Dinosaur Land, World Joyland, and Haichang Ocean Park felt on par with...
Just made a 9 day road trip, hitting up some new and some old midwest parks. Here goes. New creds in bold, moved creds in italics
1. Voyage
2. Python in Bamboo Forest
3. Hades 360 - This has to be the most intense wooden coaster out there right? Non stop (besides the lift hill) airtime...
I'll give this one a shot. Overall rank in parenthesis. Velocicoaster and Iron Gwazi should help to perhaps sneak a Floridian coaster into my top ten. Tentatively planning to visit next winter once the hype (and Covid) die down.
1. (14) Mako
2. (27) Hagrid's
3. (29) Mine Blower
4. (34) Montu
5...
It's definitely got to be wood for me. Of the 219 coasters I've ridden, 47 are wooden (21.5%). Of my top 30, 40% are wooden. Of my top five coasters, 60% are wooden.
My guilty pleasure is definitely when a park has secluded nature-centric areas. The quaint bridges, trails, and spiral stairways, at the back corner of Liseberg behind the Ferris Wheel are honestly part of what make it such an untouchable park for me.
Other good examples from my experience are...
Here goes:
1. Voyage - 9x
2. Python in Bamboo Forest - 3x (long lines, terrible dispatches, and early closure)
3. Helix - 40x
4. Dinoconda - 2x (half day and extremely long lines, only got on twice thanks to purchasing a couple very pricey fast passes)
5. Boulder Dash - 207x
6. OCT Thrust - 6x...
I live in Massachusetts and considering we really only have one park, I'll make my top 10 out of my region, New England. Here goes.
1) Boulder Dash
2) Superman The Ride
3) Wicked Cyclone
4) Roar-o-saurus
5) Wooden Warrior
6) Phobia
7) Batman: The Dark Knight
8) Joker
9) Thunderbolt (SFNE)
10)...
Such a sad announcement from this park, and yet another woodie closed with no chance for final rides. Really sad to see wooden coasters disappearing from this planet faster than they are being built, especially one that had as good of a layout as this. I never got to ride, but it looked like a...
Gonna have to disagree massively here. I never rode it in its prime I suppose, but my rides in 2018 were incredible. Rough, yes, but excellently paced and delivered great forces the whole way around
Some notable ones for me:
The high five on Dauling Dragons. I figured they'd be a pop of air and lats but it delivered some insane ejector!
Skull Mountain's first drop, duh
Dinoconda's zero g roll. I honestly didn't know what to expect here, but it delivered some of strangest and craziest...
I wood (pun intended) personally prefer not to see any more wooden RMC conversions and instead see new ground up RMCs. We need the classic wooden coasters to live on, especially when the Vekoma ones (at least Thundercoaster) are so great. Really bummed that I never got to try Robin Hood even...
