It is possible, but the train crawls up the lift very slowly until the next train clears the first set of brakes. It is next to impossible to run Banshee without stacking a train due to this block setup (however that doesn't stop the crew from being crazy efficient like they are).
Sad news. Hopefully they find a place for Zaturn and possibly the Maurer looper. I'm placing my bets on Titan getting scrapped, but maybe the trains will be sent somewhere.
It's very interesting that we will see both Kanonen and Zaturn on the market after next year. Hopefully some parks look...
When I visited back in June, El Toro at SFGAdv had great operations. They were sending out a train just as the other one was hitting the initial set of magnetic brakes. There was hardly a line, and if so, it moved very quickly.
Wicked Cyclone at SFNE was also great. They were very clear and...
I really like the idea of overhead lap bars. They allow for easy belt check (due to it being on the outside), they can be used on floorless and inverted coasters, and they are more accommodating for smaller and larger riders. I imagine they will eventually replace OTSRs for most coasters (as...
In no particular order, here are just a few off the top of my head...
1. Apocalypse at SFA. I've never been fond of B&M Stand-Ups in general, but this one is completely terrible. I rode it once and have no desire to do so ever again.
2. Mind Eraser (SFNE & SFA). Both are equally bad. The...
I would have to go with Nitro or Millennium Force. Both are tall, fast, smooth, intense (but not too intense), and comfortable. As much as I love Skyrush, El Toro, and Maverick, they definitely are not rides I could marathon.
I'm pretty sure mine was Colossus at Lagoon, but it could've been Montezooma's Revenge at Knott's as well. It was quite a while ago, so I'm not completely certain.
I definitely believe it is a coaster-by-coaster basis. Some rides will never go to lap bars (an obvious example is the flying coaster), but I definitely see more manufacturers making the switch over to lap bars in the future for standard roller coasters. I'd love to see B&M give it a shot at...
