Looking at the ride - it could very well be the best in the world. 5700 feet of track, four inversions, a ridiculous amount of airtime, and a vertical drop. What part of the ride is everyone here looking forward to the most?
The ride is a home run. I predict that it will be the best ride in the park, and quite possibly the world (don't say that lightly, as Mavericks my 2nd ranked coaster).
Can't wait to see them expand on the queue and frontiertown upgrades that you know are coming along with this monstrosity.
Exactly. Last week they worked a ton of ledgers, installed track all the way to the midcourse, and took out a chunk of the lift. This week, I've only noticed the addition of one ledger on the drop.
I really think it has everything going for it. Large airtime moments, quick airtime moments, a short stall, long ride length and duration.
Right up there with Lightning Rod and Wildfire as the best RMC. Best coaster in the park.
The park doesn't work on SATURDAY, and hasn't for the last couple big coasters. They aren't going to stop construction all together, and have advanced the ledgers immensely.
The second half of the ride will not have these expansive type elements you see early on. Already, there's a speed hump that I can't imagine would be fun in the back row of a 32 person train. A given segment of track must be engineered so that the linear and rotational accelerations...
^ Definitely going for maximum capacity. The second half of the layout should be pretty awesome, since the MCBR is pretty tall. I doubt we'll get longer trains, as RMCs maneuver through some tight transitions.
^ Really? Because none of us know the specs yet. Cedar Point has actually done a great job keeping information under wraps in comparison to GateKeeper and Valravn. There's people leaking photos to Screamscape every week, someone actually emailed me photos one week.. These are of a similar...
Traffic leaving DC was awful, ended up getting to Kings Dominion much later than originally planned. Only Volcano had any line, so it didn't end up being too big of a negative. Still, I loved the park and would have preferred more time there.
So it does this step----zero G roll after a massive climb in elevation, and as soon as it turns over, it goes straight under the drop. It's like an inversion at the top of an airtime hill. That's neat.
^ Me too. No idea what I could compare it to that I've ridden, but I am loving all the airtime this ride should provide. Also, this angle shows just how beautiful of a structure the New Mean Streak has. Can't wait to see it complete in context with the rest of the skyline.
Add to the Western Theme, the music they use is Duel At High Noon
As for the Twitter account, I'm not going to show "proof" that it wasn't Tony running it, but if you wanted proof, please just look at his misuse of their/there and your/you're.
