Yeah that’s a cool one. I actively dislike Harry Potter stuff but even I was kind of captivated by that whole experience of going through the station and whatnot.
Been a very good trip; still got Busch Williamsburg tomorrow, but I don’t expect any there to crack my top ten, so this is where it stands now, with Fury moving up to #1 where it probably always should’ve been and asterisks denoting the new rides this trip.
1) Fury 325^
2) Intimidator 305*
3)...
Goddamn, rctneil, I live in the US and it’s taken me a year to get 50 creds I seriously don’t know how you can rack them up like that in one trip but congrats!
Bit of review here, but I’m not gonna double -post in another thread. Just got Intimidator 305 for my 150th credit and holy ****. I was looking for reasons not to like it (didn’t much care for Maverick, wasn’t...intimidated...by the sight of it as I pulled up this morning) but I was wrong. If...
Copperhead Strike - This is a really fun, unique ride. I love the attention to theming, which is on another level compared to most coasters [that I’ve seen]. The hangtime is out of control on a few elements and there are some enjoyable forceful transitions throughout (though also a couple...
That’s a really interesting article, Hyde, and something I’ve been wondering about. I kind of expected, with the tarriffs on steel imports to the US, that we would start seeing more woodies, or just less coasters in general, built here, but I don’t have a full grasp on the economics.
Voyage ay Holiday World - not alot I can say that probably hasn’t been said. Definitely world class, but I gotta ask: what’s up with those restraints? I’m a thin dude but squeezing my legs together and under that lap bar leads to some serious discomfort in the nethers. I’m not well-educated on...
That’s a really good analysis. I’m resolved to get back to KI tomorrow so I’ll see how it rates now as I’ve ridden a ton of new coasters this year. I’m tentatively slotting Lightning Rod at 2. There’s just nothing wrong with that ride (a bit short, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing) and not...
Yeah, you said exactly what i was trying to, and I agree.
I appreciate all the feedback! I know it’s even less than a trivial issue, but I was just wondering what people thought.
All I can say about that is that rankings are unscientific and completely subjective. That’s the one I can ride any day of the week around the year when I feel the urge, so it’s gonna get all my love. Plus it’s a very good ride.
I know it’s kind of laughable and I anticipated a little pushback, but I’m sticking to it. I just really like the scale of that thing, feeling like you’re always a million feet above the ground, and I can’t express how much I enjoyed that first drop and the dive loop over the thoroughfare. I...
Because it’s a cheap addition for a park that doesn’t have many rides in a chain that is having to add rides almost yearly as they try to completely rebrand?
I mean, I’ve lived in San Diego my whole life and it’s literally just this last year that I’ve started to think of Sea World as an...
It’s not like anyone is going to audit my count, lol, but I personally have a hard time including credits I don’t remember clearly or can’t name. Probably I’m giving too much authority to rcdb and if it’s not on there I don’t include it.
1) Banshee
2) Ghostrider
3) Steel Vengeance
4) Fury 325
5) Twisted Colossus
6) Iron Rattler
7) Mystic Timbers
8) Incredible Hulk
9) X2
10) Mako
All very personal (some likely laughable) opinions, based on overall experiences instead of any real objective analysis. For example, I fully recognize...
Not a very important thing, but I wonder if people include traveling coasters like those Wild Mouse rides that pop up at county fairs. If so, how do you categorize them when you don’t recall the name and they move around alot?
Viper at Magic Mountain gets some grief and isn’t entirely enjoyable anymore, if I’m honest, but that was my first big coaster and I hope it’s there forever. Most picturesque coaster I’ve seen, still. (Objective opinion, obv.)
Fun topic!
1) X2 in the front after I finally got on it fifteen years after looking up in disbelief and saying “**** that.”
2) Diamondback in the rain my first time at King’s Island.
3)Ghostrider at about 2am at Scary Farm w/ some random drunk chick hanging on my arm screaming in my ear.
It’s a bit off-topic, but what exactly would make a coaster a Skyrocket III? Whereas the Skyrocket II’s are of course all cloned, I thought Full Throttle’s layout was unique to its terrain.
I do agree that something similar would be a great addition at SfoG, already a very good park.
