When I lived in Virginia, my home park geographically speaking was Six Flags America, being 45 minutes away by car, but in terms of what I actually visited I considered it to be Kings Dominion. I was 90 minutes away and I’d go 4 or 5 times a year, mostly during the summer holiday.
Now that I’m...
My week-long Northeast extravaganza has come to a close, and with it I’m welcoming a whopping… one coaster to the top 20? Ok, so some stuff didn’t hit quite as hard as I’d hoped, but I’m still grateful to have pretty much completed New England, if only so that next time I visit I can focus...
Another HoliWood Nights done!
Voyage is still better than perfect. Somehow, this year’s Voyage crushes last year’s and even 2022’s. It’s a good few seconds faster and there’s a new awesome moment of laterals coming into the midcourse. I just don’t see how anything could ever get better than...
For me, it’s definitely the Rail Runner mountain coaster at Anakeesta. There’s one specific turn on the ride that, when taken at full speed, seriously tests the integrity of the single lap belt restraint. I am not one to say that I feel like I’m falling out of a ride, but I absolutely in that...
While obviously the world is better without a park that mistreats their animals, I’m pretty sad that Dragon Mountain is finally kicking the bucket, especially so soon after I rode it and loved it. I’m glad I rode it at all, but man. That thing was probably the funniest coaster to ever exist.
I am a little trepidatious about this change, a big part of why I love the ride so much is its incredibly open restraints and seats. If I still feel as exposed riding it with new seats as I did before I’ll be pleasantly surprised and relieved.
Honestly, while none of the names were good by any means, I think they made the right choice out of the three finalists.
Iron Splash: the Surf Coaster, while hilarious, is an absolute train wreck of a name and was almost certainly submitted as a joke. Aquaphobia on the other hand is WAY too...
After a semi-surprise visit to Hersheypark and a revisit to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, my coaster 2023 is now complete! With that, my top 20 is finalized for the year.

According to this article, the main investor, Jiayuan Chuangsheng Holding Group, defaulted on their loans in august, and the property has since been put up for auction. In the same article, the workers installing the glass panels are mentioned, with the reported purpose being "to prevent further...
After one previous visit with it closed all day and 2 other cancelled visits due to extended downtime, I've finally gotten on #313 Wildcat's Revenge! It gave me so much trouble but after 7 rides on it I've found it was worth the wait. This thing's pacing falls right in line with the likes of...
It's being built by GravityKraft. M&V haven't built a Gravity Group coaster in the US since 2011 when they installed Zippin Pippin at Bay Beach Amusement Park.
The whole “track designs with wheels on the outside are smoother” thing has been long disproved, ever since RMC started making glass smooth steel coasters with the wheels on the inside of the rails. The trope of rough coasters with wheels on the inside comes from old Arrows and Vekomas, whose...
I’m currently bored in a queue, and I haven’t posted in this thread in quite a while, so I figured I’d review some of the notable stuff I rode on my New York/Canada trip, from July 28 - August 1.
Riding #282 Leap the Dips at Lakemont Park checked another record off my list with the world’s...
I’d like to humbly request that we collectively choose Iron Splash: The Surf Coaster simply because it’d be extremely funny for a ride of that name to exist at that park.
