BPB (or Pleasure Beach Resort as Amanda likes to call it) is my nearest park, about an hour's drive or just over an hour on the train. I tend to visit about 2 or 3 times a year.
Give me a TARDIS though, and Belle Vue would have been about 10 minutes drive from my house - how gutted I am it...
Hi all, loads of great pictures I have never seen of the Scenic Railway at Belle Vue on this link with some interesting info:
https://library.chethams.com/blog/the-belle-vue-scenic-railway-our-special-correspondent-writes/
Nice find Chris! Just found this also of Folkestone's Switchback - it also includes a POV which I have never seen before for a Switchback Railway! Offride starts about 0:36 with the POV straight after:

Some fantastic rare photos on the following site also of coasters I've never seen pics of such as those at the British Exhibitions in Wembley, Liverpool & Glasgow; Morecambe, Spanish City and Rhyl's Figure 8s; and tons of other stuff.
Unfortunately I can't get the indvidual image urls to copy...
Another coaster from an ex-Butlins park below - this time what looks like a figure 8 style ride in Felixstowe:

And the Wild Mouse from Pwllheli:

Fantastic find on those European Scenics!
That Pic from Barcelona appears to be similar to the coaster that once stood at Blackpool's Winter Gardens in that it's steel in structure - there was an image on a previous thread I started but the link is sadly now dead:

Unfortunately won't embed, but half a POV and tons of footage of the Cyclone wooden coaster from the Kursaal, Southend at this link:
http://www.britishpathe.com/video/southend-kursaal-funfair
Looks like it was a really good coaster - a cross between Southport's Cyclone and half the Grand...
Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Project 2017
Does anyone know where in the park this mystery jeep is? I'm going on Saturday so will take a snap if I can find it :-)
Some nice pics of the Giant Racer at Redcar UK:
Full details and some video footage on this site:

The bus runs from the Port Authority Bus Station and makes one stop in New Jersey on the way. You can't buy tickets in advance and have to purchase on the day from the New Jersey Transit window (they have a couple of windows specifically for Six Flags). They do just a bus option (not sure how...
Myne would be Wild Mine Ride at Gulliver's Warrington.
In the past it would have been either Skytrak at Granada Studios, or before I was born the legendary Bobs at Belle Vue (about 10 mins drive from my house) - a coaster sadly no longer with us.
Hi All
Not posted a trip report before but thought I'd have a go following my recent trip to New York week commencing 8 June 2015. We got a cracking deal of £400 return flights to JFK from Manchester with great accommodation in Brooklyn.
I'll mainly concentrate on the parks we did and sadly...
Re: Are the major chains greed destroying guest satisfaction
Went to my first Six Flags park a couple of weeks ago (Great Adventure). Luckily we got the coach from New York so it was a fairly reasonable $72 for the journey there including entry (so we didn't encounter parking fees).
What did...
Not sure if this one has been posted before, but it's the original Great Yarmouth Scenic Railway which according to RCDB was later moved to Codona's in Scotland:
Love that Coney Island stuff - will be visiting Coney for the first time in June this year! On another note, a very sad loss - I never realised how picturesque Belle Vue actually was - it was sadly before my time. Chethams are currently digitising and uploading loads of never before seen old...
Some good clips of Blackpool Pleasure Beach here from the 1960s including the original layout of the Wild Mouse!

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach - Project 2015
I agree not much time to put in anything truly amazing now other than a flat ride. It does seem strange to be hyping it as Project 2015 if its a generic Air Race though. The only time I remember them using the 'Project' thing was for Project '94 - The...
So it is a Jack n Jill slide! Always wanted to see what one properly looked like as believe they used to have one at Belle Vue too but the photo's I'd seen never showed the ride properly.
Also - more amazing pics there Mr Furie! You certainly have some hidden gems.
Excellent Switchback photos there!
Didn't notice how different Velvet Coaster was between the two pictures, and totally agree in 1920 very 'Scenic Railway' - strangely, the first dip on the 1929 photo really reminds me of Rollercoaster (or Nick Streak if you wish to call it it's current name)...
Hi All
Sorry if this has already posted but there are some new screenshots of RCT World up here:

Apparently coaster design will use a 'spline' system this time too.
