Just thought I would do a little TR on my day.
Got to ATR at 9:50am. Walked over to the main entrance, at this point the park looked really quiet.
We headed to the Skyride first then Over to the dark forest where we walked straight on Rita and 13. Headed over to Nemesis next and again walked on.
Thought Air may have been busier, again walked straight into the station. We decided to go on N:ST next, this is crap now the ride was ok but the quarantine bit was pants. By this point it was only 12:00.
We walked down to Duel before heading towards The Smiler. Once over in X-sector we could see why the rest of the park was dead. Smiler was at 100 minutes so we decided to wait 10 mins for Oblivion. Once off we started queuing for The Smiler, 110 minutes later we boarded the front row! All I can say is much better than earlier in the year.
We then went to ride Spinball which we waited 25 mins for, then went for a few beers in corner coffee before heading back to the car for an extra layer!
We got back to the park around 4:30 ish, on the hunt for food, before having another beer, and going on Marauders Mayhem.
Now on to the fireworks!
WOW! Actually amazing! A slight story was back the lighting was fab, it was so busy! Alton Towers really did well today. Didn't see any breakdown. I'm still re-living the fireworks in my head! Really great show! Great step in the right direction hopefully they will continue with the story aspect.
Ride count:
Nemesis x1
Air x1
Rita x1
Thirteen x1
Hex x1
Oblivion x1
The smiler x1
Spinball x1
N:ST x1
Marauders Mayhem x1
Duel x1
All major rides ran very well all smooth as glass yesterday including Rita!
Didn't rush round either, quite an ok ride count with no fastrack and it being fireworks.
Was great they used each ride for fireworks, the smiler section was good. The videos sadly don't do them justice. Jubilee fireworks excelled after 2 previous years being ok, but glad to see them back on form!
