Nemesis Inferno
Strata Poster
Today me and Will decided to repeat last year's trip to Towers Scarefest of awesomeness, so we did...
After Will was delayed on his train by cows of all things (such is the North), we drove up to Towers in nice sunny yet frosty conditions...
Upon arrival, we were met with streams of people walking... Confused by this, we parked to realise a closed Monorail had happened, so we had no choice but to walk...
Naturally the first port of call is Oblivion... It's usual self really, cold as hell up there but still an epic ride...
We headed towards Tim Burton's IntaminLand to a dead Rita (naturally) but an open Thirteen, so back row times happened on that...
Still average really, again, not that much to say, apart from Rita opened as we got off, so we went on as we were there, before heading up to
Skyride for B&M Valley times...
Minimal queues and Nemesis make Benin and Will happy, but after Nemmie, we wanted Air, but it was broken, so we decided Skelvin's Haunted Adventure should be our next port of call... After donuts of tasty sugary goodness of course!
Now, I didn't think this felt as complete as Duel Live... Especially with ANNOYING BUZZER SOUND on the video made for it, there was no reference to Skelvin on the ride itself, making it rather pointless, especially when they didn't cover up the sign... Plus a lack of entrance person was slightly disappointing really... Not as good as last year, but still decent...
After that, Enthusiastic Mine Train Woman happened, least someone broke that bloody bell is all I can say about that... Still fun though...
Whilst not as good as last year's pirate related times, this pirate was adequate enough to warrant an image in this report... Sea-Life obv was our destintation here, for it was... WARM!
The parrot works again (if it had been broken before)...
Will may kill me for that photo, but Marauder's Mayhem was ridden, it was fun... Towers needs more flats...
I got all three Halloween character creds today... Horray!
FOUNTAIN! Better than Blackpool? Possibly...
Then in order to waste time (already) we went to the Farm...
Whilst the chickens tried to block our way out, they were foiled...
Woodstock was certainly enjoying the day out...
Duel noise man was broken... Will had RAGE...
Lots of feet in this photo for Will to admire...
Air then happened due to it's earlier breakdown... It's still ok...
After Air we decided to walk over to the gardens...
The gardens are so surreal really... You still hear Nemesis and Spinball, yet it's still peaceful... Love it... Should really spend more time in there over the next few years...
Charlie happened... It was cold ok...
Hex then happened, and was ruined by annoying children of RAGE... Urgh... Wide berths usually reserved for enthusiasts were given to them for a change... Annoying idiots...
Urgh, still depressing to see... Like Rodeo...
Oblivion happened again... Still good and warmer than earlier... A plus indeed...
Food times happend at the bar and grill... One burger for me and Jack Daniels glaze ribs for Will... Woodstock stuck to lettuce... It was served amazingly quickly... Possibly toooooo quickly... But hey... Food is food...
We then did Duel Live for Kids again and took our pic with Skelvin himself... Random thing that he is...
Then sitting in Dark Forest times happened...
As sunset was taking forever, Will decided to dress up as a Wraith to build up the suspense...
It didn't work, so we went to Valley again for Nemesis times...
Night-time riding in front row then back row on Nemesis when it's running THIS WELL is amazing... Awesome, awesome, awesome...
The lights on Nemmie are also AWESOME...
We walked back to Dark Forest (again), so here's some assorted night pics for you...
The red flickering lights on the Towers were also amazing... The lighting setup throughout the park at night was really well done, kudos to them on that front...
So back to the Dark Forest at night... Thirteen "After Dark" awaited...
It was closed... But a short wait, and it was open again!
Now the ride itself at night (since no actors were about then)...
It's actually so much more at night... Simple as... The old cliche of darkness improving rides applies for Thirteen ten-fold... It was much more of an actual rush and excitement since you couldn't see a thing in front of you... If only the ride was like that all the time really... Such a shame that it really does come into it's own at night when that doesn't occur much...
Oh dear...
Now as we left the annoucement about the actors was being played... After some thought, we elected to go on an Intamin over a B&M (Oblivion)... Never will that happen again in the future... Although Will was happy we made that decision...
Wraith was shy...
This is why Will loved this idea... Thirteen Girl... She was very epic indeed... The actress obviously did a lot of work on the walk and stare... It was damn perfect and creepy and really had everyone on their toes about her... Amazing performance... And worth it tbh...
In total there were 5 actors, with the other 3 being random people basically... It certainly worked well due to the queue's position in the dark wooden section... I liked it a fair bit... Good addition really...
And with that we end... Overall a really enjoyable and fun day if cold and tiring... I did really enjoy what Alton had done in many areas to the park and I didn't even get to see the Oblivion dancing lights... Oh wells...
