Boomerang Six Flags St. Louis accident

There has been an accident with Boomerang at Six Flags St. Louis.
Looking at the news footage, it appears part of the train derailed (broken wheel assembly?) between the second lift and the loop.
Four people were treated for minor injuries.

I love how the guy talking doesn't seem to have any idea how the ride works / what it does.
"It stopped at some midpoint location" uh, yeah... its clear where the train stopped. I also love how they "interrupted broadcast" to being us this story because scary things are scary.

Something like that should not happen. The only explanation for me is negligent maintenance, there are many coasters that run for decades without incidents. With today's technology it isn't too hard to detect fractures before something breaks either. I am sorry for the people that were involved in the accident though, and I am glad there were only minor injuries. Derailings can end much worse.
