With the release of halo wars this week who will be buying it and who thinks it will just be a waste of time and money.

I've played the demo and it looks freeking awesome to me.

Hi

I am ollie

I am a fanboi.

Now I don't need to post in here anymore.

And now I am usual kim.

Waste of time and money.

Halo is ****e.

I still don't understand how you can play an RTS on a console. It's pretty much like playing a beat em up on a Game Boy or a PC.

I can't imagine it working myself, but I will judge that if I ever get round to playing it.

And if you want a real RTS play this when it comes out http://www.starcraft2.com/

Halo is **** now. The first game was quite good and a decent game to own. The second one was still alright but nothing much was new.
The third one sucked balls. Plain hairy balls.
Halo is a franchise that has been WAY overhyped. Xbox think it's the "mascot" game for the 360 and Xbox fanboys will defend the game no matter what you say.
So yeah. The games are average but they are too overhyped for their own good which makes them seem even worse as you were expecting an epic game.

The only decent games the 360 currently has is Gears 1&2 and Left 4 Dead. All the others are either multi platform or utter ****.

So no. I won't be getting the new Gaylo game. One for the reasons above and two because RTS's don't really interest me.

Fanboi alert lol.

I'm personally looking forward to halo wars. The demo seemed like a fresh and well worked version of a console rts game and was good fun. Hopefully the full game will be like that.

I'm a non ps3 fanboy.

And Halo is ****.

Halo 3 the second one I played great. Halo wars will add a bit extra and refresh the gameplay if done correctly.

Money Well Spent.

This actually got me thinking about taking a man's bollocks into my mouth and sucking them gently, manipulating them with my tongue.

Waste of time and money, they are milking the series, which is just a pathetic rip off of the Alien films anyway. It is clear to see where all the ideas come from if you look closely.

I don't like Halo hardly at all and think it's a mediocre FPS.
But I really fail to see how it rips off Alien at all. Other than the fact it has aliens in it.

Please elaborate.

The Flood. Small ones jump at your face and get inside you (face huggers), then you explode and a bigger one/more little ones jumps out (chest busters). Where they are becomes covered in some sort of excretory resin, much like the hive in Aliens. There are really tall ones like the Queens. the whole thing is based on some strange and unknown history (Forerunners, and the mystery of where the aliens are from). Also, the weaponry is similar and the Pelican drop ship is so similar to the Aliens drop ship. There are similarities with Covenant ships and the alien and predator ships.

Another thing I don't get about Halo is how somebody wearing 4 inch think bullet proof armour is killed by a 6 inch alien jumping on him.

As you well know Crippollo, Halo Wars is not a FPS so it cannot be compared with the other games in the series (whether Halo3 sucks or not). I haven't had the chance to play it yet, but I bought it for the kid as soon as it was released because he loved the demo. He says that the full game blows the demo away and I watched him play some and it appears to be the best RTS on any console.
It doesn't really surprise me because (as very few of you might know) the Halo franchise started out as an RTS game at Bungie a decade ago before morphing into the FPS juggernaut we all love/hate so much. Plus the game was developed by Ensemble Studios, the creators of the Age Of Empires series on the PC, who knew what they were doing.
From watching Aidan play, it appears that the control scheme is slightly better than Command & Conquer, Battle For Middle Earth or Supreme Commander and is much better than Civilization Revolution and Endgame. Selecting units (A button or LB or RB), moving or attacking (X button), secondary abilities (Y button) and unit/structure creation (left stick) is simple with virtually no learning curve. The kid says that there are some minor AI & pathfinding issues, but what he likes the most is that it still "feels" like a Halo game.
I hope to have the chance to give it a go when I get back from LA next week, but from watching him play and from what he tells me, I'd say it's well worth the money if you are even remotely interested in RTS's. If you like the Halo universe as well, then it's a no brainer.

Uhh halo is good when you play with 4 of your mates, i dnt even play it, bu i kept dying and i kept swearig and it was jokes.

i never play it in my spare time cause its ****!

Both

Although i think that the game is very well made and plays awsomely, I could not manage to complete Halo 1 & 2 on the origional XBox so will not be very confident for Halo Wars.

Some people just don't get it.
It's not Halo. It's not a shooter. The games are completely different.
You can absolutely suck at playing Halo & be great at playing Halo Wars.
Halo is a first person shooter & Halo Wars is a Real Time Strategy game.
Understand?
