So I thought as Pingu on Drugs made a topic about everyones favourite music genre I'd open up a Discussion on Movie Soundtracks.

What is your Favourite Movie Soundtrack? Hopfully it's a notable film that other people will recognize :p

Anyhoo, I'll start
My favourite soundtrack would have to be...."How to Train Your Dragon" the opening piece called "This is Berk" is just amazing.

A close second for me would have to be Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny.

We had a topic on this fairly recently, I'll see if I can dig it out...
Until then, it's got to be The Fountain, if only for this masterpiece.

Inception, and... quite a lot of generic Hans Zimmer stuff can have an honorable mention too, but not in the same league as Clint Mansell - the last 2 minutes of that will never stop astounding me...

^Zimmer & Mansell both feature on my list, but the clincher for me is...

The Thin Red Line. Just stunning. Zimmer wins :).

This is one of those topics where my post could just go on all day, and no-one would read it all, haha, so I'll stop <//3 I'm basically just partial to any amazing violin work. Very much a strings man. Always have been. It's where I sit in an orchestra myself. Well, did.

I never know the films, but have a load of OSTs from liking tracks that Top Gear used.

So yeah, Clint Mansell, Hans Zimmer, Craig Armstrong are usually pretty immense.

I'm quite enjoying the Senna OST at the moment too.

John Williams is pretty mega too. Jurassic Park of course, and Close Encounters.

Thomas Newman is one awesome composer. Shawshank, Green Mile, American Beauty Adjustment Bureau to name just a few.

My High School Band played that theme and I didn't find it as fun as some of the other ones. Hans Zimmer's work has some much energy to it, makes it more enjoyable to play. If we are going for classics can't beat this:

In an attempt to not mention the same people as everyone else, I'm gonna say I really like Mark Mancina.

'A Wondrous Place' from the Tarzan score is utterly fantastic. :)
 
Just listening to a list of best movie soundtracks and Titanic stands out so far, shivers down the spine <3
