How do you visit a new park?

Hello,

I am new and excited to be here and finally found like-minded people.

So I always loved theme/amusement parks, not the least all the thrill and adrenalin you get from all the different rides. In the past years, I have visited 1-2 max per year such parks and always had a blast, now I want to step my game up to visit them more often, at least 1 time per month if possible.

I have put to my goal to experience new rides instead of the same 3 good parks I have access to in my country.

Now, I have a couple of questions about how to start:

What is your ritual or what are your go-to things to do when first looking for a new park and then when you arrive there, how do you start, which places do you visit first of a park? Do you think it's a good idea to go blind inside any park, like just book the ticket online and not inform yourself beforehand about all the attractions? Also, when you have ridden all the good attractions, do you select a fave of them all to ride again, with different seat positions this time, to see if it feels better?

I am glad to receive any answer!!

Has the park got creds? If so, where are the creds? When I arrive, I head to the creds first. I've usually researched which creds are in the park and where they're located so I don't waste much time looking for said creds.

It's really stressful and I hate it but it's who I am and I don't think there's much I can do to change it at this point.

Oh ok, so you mean you look for the information map so you know where all the attractions are located first when entering ? That is a good habit I should most definitely adapt too!!

Vaguely yes. Or I watch vlogs or just figure out locations from photos, park websites etc.

If its a new for me park visit, I like to check the map before getting to the park so I have a better idea of where things are, but I like to still 'explore' the park, if that's the right word. I feel like back in the early days of YouTube and watching sooooo many POV's kinda ruined some rides for me so I tend not to *overly* research as it takes away some of the fun for me. I'd also NOT make the mistake of rushing a park just for the creds. The whole get in get out thing isn't really my style. I love me a good flat ride... drop tower... ferris wheel.

Having been to most of the US parks, now when I trip plan it comes down to revisits, who built what since I was there last and what parks do I genuinely wanna go back to. Right now I'm currently in the middle of a 3 week trip but its not *just* parks in coasters, so far I've visited Six Flags America, Morey's Piers, Playland's Castaway Cove, Gillian's Wonderland Pier, and a local fair in Massachusetts amassing a grand total of *4* new credits. When I was younger I was more into non-stop park trips. I did trips along the North East US where I hit six or seven parks, in a single day... but now I take my time and I try and do other things in the area. Like on this trip, I've visited two different zoo's so far, as well as a National Park and sightseeing in Washington DC

Damn 7 parks a day, how did you even manage to make this happen lol. Wasnt it stressful and expensive not to least

Normally I try and rope drop, starting off with any "New" rides that are likley to get long queues, as well as stuff that I know is low capacity or unreliable and get them out the way first.
If its just a "cred" and it happens to have a short queue as I walk past, I'll do a quick lap to avoid wasting time on it later.

Another route I'll take on planning the park visit is light snooping through the respective park's fan forums, seeing if anyone has a recommended route/pro tips for navigating through the park. Even something as simple as "queue at this gate, not that for a quicker beat on [X] ride when the park opens" is helpful.

Good point, would probably have to write it all down then to still remember it once inside the park lol.

In New England, New York, and New Jersey (especially along the shore line) it's pretty easy to hit a whole bunch of parks. Off the top of my head some of the multi-park days were like... Keansburg https://rcdb.com/4672.htm to Funtown Pier https://rcdb.com/4670.htm to Casino Pier next door https://rcdb.com/4624.htm to Steel Pier https://rcdb.com/4739.htm or when I've gone from Quassy https://rcdb.com/4647.htm to Rye https://rcdb.com/4584.htm to Astroland https://rcdb.com/9250.htm and Denos next door https://rcdb.com/4772.htm to Bowcraft https://rcdb.com/5049.htm and ending the day at Clementon https://rcdb.com/4580.htm ...spending the whole next day at Great Adventure
