Is friends repetitive?

Well, those friends topics got me thinking about how rubbish it is, which lead on to how repetitive it is. So do you think friends is repetitive, or do you think its not for some odd reason?

Sorry dude, I have to disagree.

I found there are some elements that may have been transposed across a couple of episodes but there is so much variation and fresh comedic material buried in that show that always kept me entertained for the full 10 years!

Yes. Very. But it's an OK to watch if your bored, say on an aeroplane (they often show episodes) I'd never record or buy episodes though.

I think after 10 series i can frankly say that i'm VERY glad to see the back of it.... it was crappy and outdated.

Not one little bit. No joke or story is ever repeated. Ever. It may seem to have become a little bit repetitive, but really it hasn't.

I like the fact that usually when I watch it, it's one I haven't seen.

Also, if it is one I have seen, its not boring!

So no - friends is not repetitive... (IMSO anyway)

I don't think that Friends is repetitive ....I only started watching it this year and so am not able to say that. I do think that with the constant repeats, it must become so though - I set it up on Sky+ and ended up with 36 episodes to watch...and some were there 3 times!

Ross there isn't a middle button called "meh - sometimes" so I won't vote!

I just found it stupid and boring as hell. I didnt find the show funny at all, and im happy its gone.

The only way Friends could be seen as repetitive is if you watched the same episode 50 times.

Although there are episodes that I've watched 50 times, and they're still funny and original.

When Friends came on the scene it was a breath of fresh air for comedy. All the characters and storylines were unique. Nothing is repeated or copied. The characters were normal, and believable. Almost every joke is fresh for each episode, and yet they all fit into the episode seamlessly.

I'd love to see more examples of what everyone claims is repetitive, because I've seen every episode and never once did it feel repeated. I don't know how anyone who's actually watched the show can think this. Of course, there are plenty of people who haven't watched the show. They just have opinions based on what they're told, or see in clips, but you really should watch an episode before you make such generalisations.

I've seen every episode as well, in fact I own every single episode on DVD, but not once, not ONCE, is a joke repeated, a story line repeated. Yes, they have running jokes, like Janince's "Oh My Gawd!", but even that is done in a fresh, new way each time.

It is a little bit IMO. I like it alot, but E4 show it way too much and that kinda pisses me off because you wind up seeing episodes so many times. Just sorta rinse the show

Just today, i have seen the same episode of friends (two times on the same channel).

p.s. i didnt watch the program all the way through each time.
