Kingda Ka Questions

Might be dumb questions but here they are.

1. I read somewhere that the drop tower on kingda ka is going to open until around memorial day. Is kingda ka still going to be open even if the drop tower isn't before memorial day?

2. Does anyone know how long the Kingda Ka launch is? (in feet) I have never found an actual answer and I didn't know if anyone knew. If you could help I would appreciate it.

Going off a quick line on Google Maps, I would say it was around 675ft. That's from where the back of the trains launch, to just before the pull-up.

However, the train isn't actually being accelerated for this whole distance, from this video you can sort of see/hear when then acceleration is over (someone a bit more familiar with the ride might be able to confirm this for me).

So I'd say that makes the actual section you're launching on about 580ft.

According to the signs at Cedar Point, Top Thrill Dragster's is around 400 feet long. That's probably a heavily rounded answer though.
 
For the first question. If the drop tower is not open then Kingda Ka won't be either, because that's what SFMM did with Superman and Lex Luther.
