Goon of the Year
I had booked 4 days off from work, and didn't know what I wanted to do with them. Ended up saying to myself, time to goto Poland and get the 7 creds I need at Energylandia. My last visit was back in 2017, and included Legendia. This time no Legendia, mainly for Energylandia!
Friday 23rd
This was mainly a travel day for me as the flight was around 2pm. Grabbed some lunch at the airport...
Yup, going Mexican to start the trip! The newish burrito place at Luton Airport is a must! Been there a few times now.
Flight time rolled around and it was time to board aRyanair Buzz Boeing 737-MAX8-200 to Krakow!
Buzz are a Polish subsidiary of Ryanair, and they don't advertise the plane as a max aircraft due to what happened. Flight went off without a hitch, little bit of a delay.
Got through passport control fairly quickly, no questions asked, nice and simple! Now it was to get the hire car. I opted to get the smallest I could, as it was just me travelling. Got given a Fiat 500 Hybrid.
It will do the job getting me to Energylandia! My night stay was in Zator, about 5 minutes away from the park. It was called Kapsual Hostel. So obviously some shared facilities, grin and bear it for 2 nights at £22 total. With this place, you essentially get a little private capsule...
It will do! But the hostel did have some nice wall art
So bonus points for that! But I needed some beer... So off to the supermarket for some. Did find they were selling whole sunflower heads. Fair enough to them!
The rest of the evening I just chilled, didn't do too much as creds were going to happen!
Saturday 24th September
Rose up early, needed to get some breakfast, so it was a quick hunt, and found a McDonalds en-route to the park. Thankfully with most McDonalds you can change their touch screens to a language you can understand, so managed to get some food, and had a pretty nice view too...
Yup, Hyperion, the coaster that wasn't even built when I was last there. It was going to be the first port of call.
But first, let's get a selfie outside the park!
And have a look at how huge Hyperion is!
Yeah, pretty impressive! Energylandia had it's halloween and Ocktoberfest things going on. So the park was a little bit decked out
Now it was time to wait for Hyperion...
If you have already checked out Roller Coaster Review Show, you can skip this part =]
What a ball ache! There are metal detectors after the lockers, You are not allowed anything on you. Everything into a locker. Just a tad frustrating (Though the locker system was good! about £2 for the whole day). I had secure zip up pockets, and knew they were 100% safe, nope not allowed anything at all. According to @Nicky Borrill this is a very recent thing having metal detectors at the entrance of Hyperion. However, if you want my thoughts on the coaster, check out Roller Coaster Review Show thread in the ad's
Next up was Speed, their Intamin water coaster. This was SBNO in 2017, so I missed out. I wanted this out the way so I wasn't wet for too long, or getting wet at the end of the day.
Yeah, pretty decent, got a tad damp, that's all. Certainly a nice addition to the park.
Now with the 2 creds in the 'original' part of the park done. It was time to head across the road.
Had a quick look through the fence at Sweet Valley. Still a lot of work to be done on that part of the park. Big shame as it should of been opening by now. Maybe next year? Hopefully? But I got my first glimpse of my MAIN reason of coming here....
Yup, Zadra! Pretty impressive. But I decided I wanted to sought out the kiddie cred first, Draak.
Not a bad kiddy cred. Does the job. But now it was onto the beast!
10 minute queue? Dziękuję Ci! But my god the actual queue line was HUGE! Probably could take a 4 hour + queue in that!
First ride... Back row... Once again check out Roller Coaster Review Show for my reaction
Face says it all too! I was going to have to come back to this in a bit as I had 3 more creds to get. First up was...
Quite a nice custom Vekoma Rollerskater. Shame it was only 1 lap. Now it was onto their newest area, Aqualantis. Home of the park's 2 newest coasters, Light Explorers and Abyssus. Frist up was Light Explorers.
Little tease of the Mine Train coaster there!
Nice custom boomerang coaster. Fits in really well. So that's 2 different boomerang coasters in 1 park... are we playing RCT? Oh well! Now for the main attraction of the area...
Looking forward to this as I have been impressed with Vekoma's new work, especially Lech Coaster.
My views are once again on Roller Coaster Review Show! Sorry to burst your bubble on this, gotta push it where I can haha! Now with that, I got all the coasters I needed at the park. There had been some queues which was slowing me up. So it was time for some re-rides. As I was in the area, I had to do Abyssus again. Made no sense trying to come back as it is a bit of a dead end around there right now.
But let's go back and ride Zadra again... Queue was up to 40 minutes, blagh. So I opted for a cheeky little front row. WOW! Shame about wearing goggles on-ride, but YEEEEESSSSSS!
Worth it, and grabbed a cheeky 3rd ride too! Can't wait to get back on it in the future. But sadly I needed to go ride Hyperion at least 1 more time to give it a fair review. but first, it would be rude not to ride Formula once again.
Yup! Still packed a bit of a punch! Still very enjoyable.
One thing I was glad I didn't have to do was Viking, the spinner... Even at 10 minute queue, I wasn't even considering a re-ride
Got over to Hyperion, and managed to bag a front row ride. Though etiquette dictates, if you are first one through the batching gate, you take the far seat... Nope the kid in front of me takes a middle seat, and there was a couple in front of me, so had to take an edge seat. Not really happy about that as I was not willing to queue on my own again with nothing to do and no one to talk to. Had an alright ride.
After this I did my final piece to the camera summing up the 3 coasters on the review, and then headed out to film a bit of Hyperion from outside the park. The only place you could really see it. It was a tough day, had not eaten during the time on the park as it was almost constant queuing and riding for 8 hours! No breaks as such. I must of hit it on a bad day.
Energylandia is defiantly a 2 day park now. first day you need to get all the coasters, the 2nd, re-ride and get some of the other rides. It is a hard going park. But they seem to be doing well for themselves.
Up next. A quick cred run!
