I know this isn't going to cater to everyone's tastes (cue NO CREDS argument), but the incredibly successful Puy Du Fou in France has expanded and is opening a park in Toledo, Spain.
for those that don't know, Puy Du Fou is an entertainment park with historical theatre as it's central core - it doesn't have any rides or coasters, but it is by definition a 'theme park'. The new park is going to recount the history of Spain in various theatrical mediums and HUGE stage productions. The French park had 2.2 Million attendance last year, which puts it above Towers, Thorpe and even Phantasialand, just to put that into context.
Anyway, it turns out that the new park is opening ahead of schedule (first time ever in theme park history ), and will have a form of night time spectacular by as early as 2019.

Have you ever been, or do you have a desire to visit Puy Du Fou? I certainly do!
