Rank the RMCs

1. Steel Vengeance
I had huge expectations for this one. After all, so many thoosies have this as their #1, there has to be a reason for that. On the other hand, most thoosies rank Fury 325 very highly, and that was nothing but a dissapointment for me.
The first half is pure greatness, second half is your run of the mill RMC, but somehow... better. The airtime is sustained but not too crazy, it has a certain flow to it that is hard to describe. It took me a while to think about it, but I have to admit that this is the best coaster I've ever ridden.

2. ArieForce One
Whilst SteVe had suprisingly "mild" airtime, this was the opposite. The longer on it goes, the crazier the airtime is becoming. I was told this had the craziest airtime ever, and I see where this sentiment comes from. Holy smokes, that quad down is out of this world. I had bruises all over my legs from this beast, and I have to admit that this one broke me to the point where I was happy to end my ERT.

3. Zadra
Whilst most RMCs focus on Airtime, Zadra focusses on speed and is hauling through its layout. The Zero-G stall is nothing short of amazing, the Wave-Turn is relentless and it only has a couple of the typical "RMC edges" in the layout. Once you hit the breakrun with tremendous speed, you feel like they could've put another RMC behind it with the amount of excess speed you enter the brakerun.

4. Twisted Cyclone
Maybe the most pleasant RMC to ride. It is just comfortable and a fun experience. Not the most intense ride, and a very short one at that, but it is just a very fun ride to lap over and over again.

5. Untamed
My first RMC and a ride that is always a bit hard to judge. The 270° double Inverting Corner stall is still my favourite element on any coaster, on the other hand it's ending feels very repetetive and a bit too fast paced for my liking. It is a fun ride, but it just feels like they were trying a bit too hard.

6. Wildfire
This one starts off amazing, but is just a bit too long for its initial speed. It is certainly enjoyable, but it just slows down too much towards the end.

7. Storm Chaser
To be fair: I only had rides towards the morning and a fairly empty train, but it was a warm day nonetheless. But this one just felt... boring. The beginning is nice, but starting from the third element it just looses so much speed. The last helix is taken at a snails pace. But funnily enough, the airtime pops still deliver some airtime until the end.

8. Jersey Devil Coaster
The largest Raptor I've done so far, and the best of those. Well, given the other contestants, an easy choice. I enjoyed it, but it just lacks a bit of something. Not great, but certainly not terrible.

9. Lightning Rod
Talking of not terrible - Lightning Rod. Gosh, it looked so crazy when it opened, the speed of the quad down was out of this world. And then they neutered it. And they neutered it. And then they neutered it more with the worlds slowest "high speed" chainlift.
For some reason, you will always find people claiming that it's still the same intensity when warmed up than it used to had.
The first part is boring and shaky, featuring the worlds only wave-turn with hang time (which is the only enjoyable part here), it then switches to the smooth topper track to deliver a few mediocre airtime pops, followed by one good one.
The ride might have been an amazing one at some point, but nowadays, it is just meh.

10. Wicked Cyclone
It keeps its speed quite well, but I just found it to try a bit too hard for my liking. It has great moments, but also some, that I despised.
However, I should also mention, that I only had one ride on this one.

12. YoY Thrill
Boring, dull and rough. Little to no airtime, the inversions feel gimmicky and its just going on a bit too long.

13. YoY Chill
Take Thrill, but remove the inversions and the result is a rough family coaster. Not a fan at all.

11. Twisted Timbers
Oh boy, its getting controversial.
RMC tried to squeeze too much in too little space and the result is this abomination. It starts of decent, but quickly shows its focus on weird shaping and unpleasant laterals. The 3 airtime hills are decent, but thats the end of the fun. Some transitions are so sudden, that they just throw you around left to right. RMC clearly tried too much with this one, and the result is unpleasant, painful and simply not a good ride. Too tight, too whacky and too much to be enjoyable anymore.

1. Steel Vengeance (#1)
It’s not a cliché when it’s just that good.

2. Iron Gwazi (#3)
It’s almost as good as Steel Vengeance. Almost.

3. ArieForce One (#5)
Replace the ejector bunnies with 2 great airtime hills and it might be #1. “Stall -> outer bank -> double up ->arcade roll -> low turn -> second barrel roll” is probably the best sequence I’ve ever ridden, but the beginning and ending keep it out of the top spot.

4. Outlaw Run (#7)
Amazing, just less amazing than the above, and the last barrel roll feels awkward

5. Storm Chaser (#9)
still great, dies a little at the end. Does need to warm up before it really hits.

N.B. I am just now realizing that all of the odd numbers in my top 10 are RMCs, and that all of my ranked RMCs are currently odd numbers. I promise this was not intentional!

6. Goliath (#25)
4 very good elements, with less refined pacing. It hits the brakes before we’re finished. Half of a good ride, but nowhere near the same level as the other RMC’s I’ve done. Still fun.

7. Fire in the Hole (#who even knows?)
It’s a family ride, but honestly if I had to pick between riding this or Goliath, I’d probably pick this. I loved it.

I've done a few more now - so just based on what I've done:

1. Twisted Colossus - Still my #1 Coaster - I think maybe we've been very lucky getting lots of rides when it's duelling. Just nothing else like it - it ticks nearly all the boxes for me with great airtime, incredible 'high five' moments when it duels and enough speed to feel like it's constantly out of control, without the shin guards ruining me.

2. Zadra - I love that stall so much and I think it errs just on the side of not feeling too crazy to be uncomfortable. It's like a more refined version of Steve

3. Steel Vengenace - This is one of the wildest and most impressive coasters I've been on, but those damn shin guards are an absolute killer. I'm 6'3'' and they make every air time hill feel super uncomfortable, to the point where I actively don't want to reride this. I really hope one day they redesign the trains so they can run with just a lap bar like the Intamin coasters.

4. Untamed - I think this is a really underrated coaster. It's surprisingly small but is paced incredibly well - every part of it is super fun and the rolls are paced perfectly so you really feel the floatiness in them. Again, being a bit tamer probably helps me with the comfort level.

5. Lightning Rod - While I'm not usually a huge fan of inversions on coasters, I do think LR is lacking a bit without them, but everything else about it is great. The setting is beautiful and going over the back of that hill makes it feel a bit wilder. I've done it with both the launch and the chain lift and I don't think it's made all that much difference, I'd take the increased reliability over the launch for sure.

6. Wildfire - Absolutely beautiful setting and the turnaround at the top is spectacular. The first third of the ride is pretty good but then it just feels like it loses all its steam and gets quite boring, which is a real shame.

7. Wonder Woman Flight of Courage (SFMM) - This felt crazy and almost like it shouldn't work. It's not as good as the 'normal' RMCs but it does offer something unique and is still a lot of fun

8. YoY Thrill - going against the grain a bit, I enjoyed Thrill more, the inversions are great and I love the high five moments just like I did on TC - it's just not a super interesting coaster outside of that and lacks the craziness of Wonder Woman

9. YoY Chill - It just doesn't feel like it does a lot, and it's somehow already feeling quite rough, you can feel a bump on every transition between piece of track. I wouldn't be bothered about doing it again.

I really need to do one more so I can have a top 10 - I think Hakugei might be next so I'm excited to see how good it is!

I finally ****ing have some!

3. Yoy (Thrill) - was my first ever RMC, rode it once at the start of the day and I can barely remember it. I imagine if I'd rode it again later it might be more intense but also rougher. Props to Walibi Holland to having the empty Chill train still duel.

2. Yoy (Chill) - a bit better, more airtime focused and I was able to notice the duelling more. Even got a zen front row ride on the first run, but the second ride later on, while warmed up, definitely felt a bit rougher. It kind of put me off a second ride on Thrill unfortunately. The Yoys were kind of decent, not that amazing.

3. Untamed - yeah obviously this is the best one I've done so far. Aggressive airtime all around, notable elements to me were the first drop, the double inversion straight after, the wave turns, and going through the structure near the end. The rest is just crazy airtime, though I found the other 3 inversions to be less interesting than the rest of the ride. Definitely sits somewhere in my top 10 but I would have to sit down and go through everything to figure out where.

This was not only ranked from worst to best, but in the order I did them.
