S&S Power new Coaster Concept

Leviathan

Roller Poster
On Screamscape theit postet a new coaster ride concept by S&S Power.

It looks very interesting, a new version of their 4th Dimension Coaster?

S&S Power - (10/28/11) In an interesting twist, it looks like a video animation was posted to YouTube showing off a new coaster system that looks virtually identical to the one discovered the other day by AmusementAuthority. So the question remains… is this the system S&S is now involved with or something else entirely unrelated?

If this is real, this is going to be epic. I've seen videos of this coaster before and even scribbled my own design on paint.

Come on and make it now S&S

It looks like the WORST IDEA EVER...

The layout makes no sense, it looks like it would be a mechanical nightmare to the same level as the original X, and add on the low throughput and the fact that most people would probably throw up afterwards, it looks like a recipe for disaster...

S&S should have just stuck to towers...

That looks vile, and it looks fake. I'd be quite worried if that exact model appeared at a park in the next few years...

As far as I know, it's fake! I saw that video ages ago (uploaded in 2009) and the uploader has nothing to do with S&S at all....

Screamscape must have made a mistake...

As for the ride itself? The ideas looks pretty cool but that's about it. It will make peeps too dizzy and the actual layout is extremely intense.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was made into a flat ride though... :--D

S&S are stupid but they're not that stupid.

Their Free Fly coaster is actually quite a cool concept:

Kudos to them for making them ridiculously exposed and not putting OTSRs on them. Though none have been built since 2009, I wonder why? The throughput is probably useless...

Hi, I'm an independed inventor named Jordan Detrich. Allow me to explain my new 4d roller coaster technology while I touch you inappropriately in your most special places.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqHQ-Caz9UM

I must detest of this gyro coaster because it sounds rather silly and complex, my new technology is all new and if you look at my patent you can see that it is new technology, my new technology is lighter and uses less parts for an exhilerating experience that will not cause as much of a problem with money as this. My new technology opens up much more possibilites such as my Type 2. Possibly more exciting and exhilerating.

Yeah, that just looks like some engineering outer god of absolute horror and insanity. It has even less credibility that the "new4d" I posted (only posted it again cause he's hilarious). That just seemed like a farfetched pipedream. This gyro coaster thing just looks way too excessive in... Everything.

I can't see it happening theres just so much that can go wrong If its too crazy people will just throw up, the amount of money required to make this work would be insane, and the technology to make it work would require a lot of time and effort to prefect.

Too me all i see is a pretty picture (or video..i guess). S&S isn't actually known for reliable mechanics in the first place. X is the prefect example.

I think that "coaster" there is just a mishmash of random elements to show ideas for what the train could do. It's more about illustrating the premise of the technology than presenting an actual ride.

As a concept, I guess it looks cool, but I think it has a bit of work to do, engineering-wise. I mean, simple coasters with a lift and a block brake tend to break down regularly. Now add several hinges and joints to each car, and a separate engine to do the turning and twisting of the seats, and you've really got it going. This thing would be a nightmare for any maintenance department - unless they were paid-per-job, that is.

That looks sickening, I cant imagine that ever coming to fruition, it looks like something to test astronauts.

^Agreed, this would provide serious maintenance issues.

I have to say, I hate the whole design. The coaster looks vile, the cars, the flipping it's horrible.
s&s have come up with some weird things, so i'm not surprised if this is real however i don't think it will be bought.

This video is an old one that has been out for a while. It is purely conceptual, which means we are no where near an actual, real life model.

Dont' forget, originally the Arrow Suspended was meant to have zero banking and inversions. But after the failure of Bat at Kings Island, Arrow redesigned to a much more comfortable model.

Oh my god! They were thinking of doing inversions on a Suspended Swinging coaster? That would be amazing! Well, amazing but dangerous...

Ha, I saw his video before he listed it as private. How proffesional attempting to promote your idea through youtube. Like S&S (or any other manufacturer) would be desperately searching for someone on youtube with a new concept, what was he thinking?

He sounded a little enthusiastic :p

Dear god, this looks absolutely disgusting. The only way this would work would be if t was a controlled mechanism and for a dark ride coaster, not an ordinary coaster. Jus go away.
