Tanganyika Tidal Wave Closing

Sooo pink panther mentioned this in the Cobra's Curse thread but thought that we might as well have a proper thread as well.

I personally enjoy the ride, it doesn't give you quite as much whiplash as Thorpe's TW. It it very old though so this isn't really a surprise.

Interesting area to redevelop though.

Wonder when the official close will be.

They really can't afford to close any non - coaster rides. The lack of diversity in that park is shocking!

I never went on it but it looked a nice ride and was great to spectate. Hopefully they'll do something with the space and not just leave it there like Gwazi :(

As tired as I am of these kind of rides, and I rarely bother with them unless there's some kind of indoor/dark ride aspect these days, they're usually very popular in whatever park they're in and take queues away from other stuff, so they're a decent park staple really.

This truly doesn't surprise me as they only keep it open for the short summer period anyway. Really hoping they add something worthwhile for the family market and not just another coaster plonked in (as much as I like coasters).

Screamscape are reporting that "pixelsattheparks" have been informed that the attraction won't be reopening.

I remember going on it, thinking it was just a regular Shoot the Chutes style of ride and almost lost my nerves over the never ending sequence of animatronics before the lift hill. :p
