Walibi Belgium: 2028 novelties

Hyper Poster
So Walibi Belgium recently opened Dock World. The new immersive land including brand new familycoaster Mecalodon.

Today, in an interview with Belgian newspaper, general manager Jean Christophe Parent, confirmed their next big project: Festival World. The zone featuring Loup-Garou and Vampire will be completely transformed into a new New Orleans and carnival. Concept arts are ready and he said the management team will get the first look pretty soon. It is not known yet if any new rides are planned yet. Although it is no secret the park has plans to converse Loup-Garou and remove Vampire...

This new land is planned to open somewhere between 2028 and 2030.

This makes me pretty happy, if Loup-Garou was to be RMC’d then the park has a really healthy line up - possibly one of the best in Europe with Kondaa.

I also have no issues with Vampire potential being axed. It’s the best scenario in my opinion.

I love Loup-Garou as is, but if they do this area well and RMC do a good layout this park will be so well rounded out. They have loads of land to play with, and a New Orleans or Carnival theme allows for a lot of colour and spectacle, I'm excited.

Themepark Magic have shared this image, which is an update by kids coaster Fun Pilot. It serves as a fun Easter Egg, looking like a departure board showing 'flights' to all of the park's different lands:

The notable point is the mysterious ?? World, with a gate of W28, which could indicate that the new land is set to open in 2028.

To further add to the purely speculative nature of this post, if a major new ride was to come with the world, particularly one serving as a replacement for one of Loup-Garou or Vampire, it could be possible that 2026 would be the last year of the to-be-removed/upgraded ride...

So the rumors I've heard so far and sound pretty realistic:

* The deal with RMC is closed and the park is removing Vampire to make room for an extension of the converted Loup-Garou.

* The park is removing Vampire to make room for a park hotel. It's an open secret that Walibi is dreaming of a hotel for years now. The growth in attendance (according to General Manager Jean Christophe Parent 1.800.000 last year (approx. 1.350.000 for Walibi, 450.000 for Aqualibi) makes the idea of a hotel for the park more realistic.

Hope we will find out more pretty soon!

Why would Vampire need to be removed for the extension for the Loup-Garou conversion? Wouldn't they need the Vampire space for the hotel anyway? How can both happen at the same time, surely it would be one or the other?

Of course not. But those are the two rumors that are going around right now 😉

Ah, I did not realise they are separate rumours. My bad! I personally think the hotel is a much more likely option, they have more than enough space to convert Loup Garou without needing the Vampire plot.

Whilst I avoid riding Vampire, it would be a shame to outright remove a coaster with no replacement.

Sure, the park have expanded and added multiple new coasters in recent years. But in turn, so have their attendance figures. The removal of a ride with no like-for-like replacement is risky at this stage in their growth.

Then again, they do have space elsewhere to grow and add in a new ride. So it's not a disaster. Just my initial reaction to the removal of a coaster.

Agree, I can't stand it, but it soaks up some capacity, and a suspended coaster that inverts just feels like something a park should have.

So today, Walibi Belgium announced a new edition of the Walibi Pass Event. The last Pass Event was in November 2024. In a little video, the park's general manager invited passholders for a new event on June 6th. During this event, they will have a look at the past investments the park did in the past 10 years. And the park will reveal their plans for the near future.

The park also posted this picture, which is obviously the Loup-Garou zone!
