What was the first ride you rode no handed?

The first ride I ever rode no handed was Air Race at Beech Bend Park. I went to the park on September 4th, 2016, Air Race was my favorite ride at the whole park, and because of this I rode the ride no handed.

Riding no handed may seem terrifying, however on some rides, holding on to the harness may cause more fear than not holding on to the harness. Everyone should try riding no handed on rides. Not only that, but the part of the harness you grip, may be hot and sweaty from previous riders riding it.

So, what was the first ride you rode no handed?

No idea I'm afraid. Don't ever remember it being an issue when I was growing up that I was scared to let go.

Skip to 2012 however, and I was petrified to let go of Skyrush...

Probably the first thing I've ever been on, as I was probably so young my fingers haven't fully grasped the idea of holding onto a bar(pun intended).

Hmmmm not the first ride I ride no handed but the first ride I remember being proud of riding no handed was Collosus at Thoroe park, I just snuck over the 1.4m height restriction so the heart lines pushed me up and down in the restraint. Riding no handed was a huge deal for me at the time!

Probably something at Thorpe Park, so Colossus or Nemesis Inferno.

Felt so hard lol, although these days I actually prefer to ride holding on.

As kids, me and my friends made a big deal of riding The Big One with arms up. It wasn't that scary but it was actually difficult for us skinny little teenagers to bare that first drop without holding on. It really knocks you about with that turn.

I tend not to do the whole 'arms up' thing now if it's a rough ride, I'll just fold my arms around the restraint as I find that more comfortable.

I always used to hold on, not out of fear but just because I preferred the ride experience - I guess I felt more 'connected' to the coaster if that makes sense? Nowadays I prefer to ride with my hands in the hair for that out of control feeling. I think the first big ride I did this on was probably Nemesis.

Despite riding The Smiler, I still have all my limbs and appendages so have never ridden any ride without hands.

Seem to remember when you nearly lost one at Blackpool trying to reach for the Big Dipper.

Never underestimate the stupidity of people ;)

Ignoring kiddie coasters, my first ride on which I dared was Karacho at Tripsdrill. It was the third time I rode it that day, so I felt confident enough. It felt really funny and exciting with those diveloop-elements. Since then, I try to ride no handed as often as possible, even though sometimes bigger drops make me grab the harness again reflexively. But on Blue Fire for example I have no problem riding it without holding myself.
