Alton towers, Chessington and Thorpe park (with flying fish) all have Mack powered coasters...

But which is best?

Here's some stats for you to decide....

AT's mine train
Length: 1000'
Speed: 22.4 mph
Duration: 1:50

Flying fish
Length: 767' 9"
Height: 20' 8"
Speed: 18.8 mph

No facts available for chessington's.

Personally AT's takes my vote for being a lot faster...and with a great drop!

What do you think?

Please reply! :--D

I haven't been on the Chessington or Thorpe ones, somehow missed the credits despite going to both parks. But from the looks of them i'd say AT is a clear winner. I prefer the mine train at Europa Park though :)

Out of the choices it's easily Altons. It's the longest and the fastest.
The other two are the same layout and are exactly the same apart from one has rocks.

Alton's by a country mile. Flying Fish is the worst. Aidan summed it up perfectly when we where there with Jerry and Co. He said something along the lines of "I love the ghetto pond in the middle of this thing". It killed me, and I agree with him. Flying Fish is dire.

The one at Chessington is alright, but it feels like a cheaper version of the one at Alton. Runaway mine train at Alton is by far the best one. It's got the best theming, the best layout and it's the most fun. Plus you can slap the supports! What more do you want?! :p

Altons before the accident when it went fast through the tunnel.

Flying fish was the best when it was Space Station Zero.

Now they are all rubbish :(

Alton Towers for sure, its a fun way to burn 5 minutes on the way to or from Forbidden Valley, the other two however, not so good.

Alton Towers' Mine Train is actually a really nice ride! It has some great theming, and I have fond memories from when I was younger so that might add to my judgement. So yeah, Altons for me!

Alton's is one of the best rides there, it's amazing <3

Chessington's makes me want to drink bleach.

I've never been on any european coasters, but judging from some POVs I've seen, Alton has the best RMT.

What on earth is the point of this topic?

Especially when the choices seem completely arbitrary. Is it meant to be "What is the best UK mine train?"

In which case it's obviously Alton's, as it's the only one with a custom layout, whilst the other two are both cheap figure-of-8 layouts. Even in that case, one is themed and the other isn't, so I imagine 99% of people would put RMT>>RT>>FF.

Pointless topic.

^The point of this topic was to decide which of the mack powered coasters (basically mine trains) are the best, however, feel free to post about your all time favourite mine train if you want but please talk about which mack mine train you prefer.

One of the main reasons that I voted for AT's was it's drop through the tunnel...which was more exciting than most of th13teen!

STC, don't be so rude. This topic is well crafted and imaginative.

[/dontwantawarningdoyou?]

I suppose a better topic title would have been "Best UK Powered Mine Train" really, since there are a lot of much better mine trains out there, both powered and non-powered.

Anyway, from that choice of three, it's Alton's by miles. That's not to say it's any good; it's just less **** than the other two.

Anyone who's chosen Flying Fish needs to go to more parks than just Thorpe.

Alton's, definitely. Chessie's is in 2nd with Fish in 3rd? How are there possibly 3 whole people that all believe Fish to be the best?

I love Alton's mine train! It blows all the other ones out of the water and I really like how it goes into that tunnel thing near the water ride. It's actually a really good coaster and definitely the best mine train I think I've ever been on, period.
