Which theme parks should Merlin take over?

If Merlin Entertainments could take over any theme park in the world, what would it be and why? For me, it would be Lightwater Valley, as they have a lot of land and a lot of room for potential if they have the money.

Absolutely none. Merlin can't be trusted with what they've got, let alone anything new

Since SeaWorld is trying to sell the two Busch Garden parks in Williamsburg and Tampa and Six Flags or Cedar Fair are the chains rumored to most likely purchase them, I guess Merlin would be a better alternative. It would also give them a much stronger foothold in the USA.
However, I would rather see Herschend Family Entertainment, who own Silver Dollar City and Dollywood, buy the parks because they are the least likely to **** them up.

Definitely none in the UK. What UK Merlin needs is some decent competition to force them to step up their game. Saying that, one park that will benefit from investment from a large chain would be Oakwood, providing it gets enough attention - which it wouldn't from Merlin.

As ECG said the two Busch Gardens parks would be good for Merlin, as it would help them increase their US presence. But overall Merlin shouldn't take over anywhere, and should be investing further into their existing parks.

Paramount Park London. Then maybe it might actually get built.

Although then it would have the abandoned/destroyed theme everywhere, be full of shipping containers, open really late and probably suck. :p

This and this, a thousand times over. I hate Merlin.
Well... maybe 'hate' is a strong word, how about 'dislike'?
'Disapprove'?
'Not bad, but could do better?'
Errr... no, it's no use, I can't lie. I hate Merlin. Out of all the major park operators in the (western) world, Merlin are by far the most dumb-assed, half-soaked, ill-informed, backwards thinking out of them all.

I am not really amazed by Merlin. if you ask me, Mack should take over/open some locations.

There are no parks in the UK that would benefit from the commercial juggernaut that is Merlin! But it would do well in the US if it got it's hands on a park, sure it would be looking at acquiring something in Florida or a large stake.

The Walibi parks are already quite Merliny I found, so if Merlin *had* to take over any parks, they'd be a good shout.

To be fair, if Merlin did take over and invested similar amounts of money into Walibi Holland that they do to with Thorpe and Alton, they could do a decent job out there. They don't have many problems planning wise (I guess?), and there's plenty of rubbish rides they could rip out and replace with some cookie cutter B&Ms that'd be a hit in the Netherlands. They've even got a woodie crying out for the RMC treatment. Tone down the brash, in your face marketing, and it'd be a decent enough park...

aren't the Walibi parks owned by the people who own Parc Astérix so my big issue would be that Asterix would also end up in merlin control. which would be dreadful

The only good thing Merlin would have to offer if they took over a park is millions upon millions in cash. If Merlin took over BPB for example they'd probably scrap the amazing Mack launch coaster they're getting for a world's first VR dark ride suspended over water.
